So much for the Muppet special being "successful"

Re: Re: hating NBC You know, i've seen it now, and while it didn't exactly blow me away (i think MFS was better) i don't think it needed anything more than a parental guidance kinda rating. Obviously it wasn't just aimed at kids but there wasn't all that much that made me think it wasn't...

    Good bye Disney!! (sad)

Actually i do, i've found him ok. he's just a bit shrewd and manipulative, that's all. There's a lot of sharks in the media !

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Two people at the top of the company, and a few executives were involved in that. The company was spread a lot more widely - into a lot of joint ventures with people like Kirch and they had some great people working for them with good intentions. Obviously things haven't looked good from how...

So much for the Muppet special being "successful"

The Muppets did 11 million and won the best demograph did it not ? If you were to go by this article, the Muppet movie haven't done that far less than the top rating specials they mention. Seriously, that movie did generally ok - it wasn't a blockbuster, but it was more than acceptable for...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Sorry Kev, i wasn't aiming what i said completely at you - more of a general comment really. From how this site and also the media has portrayed things it's been kinda :- EMTV (big bad German corporation) :- Bad. Henson (nostalgic helpless TV company) :- Good. It's just not that simple...

    MuppetFest 2?

On the upside, unless it was really drastically bad financially, this sale deal with Valentine could mean there's some hope for a Muppetfest in late 2003/2004. I mean maybe not an all singing, all dancing theatre show but they'll need some kinda promotional events and things.

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Valentine's American based, and he used to be head of one of Disney's divisions .... it may have been movies or animation, not sure. It isn't really a company, he just left UPN with a big payoff and will be based with his associates at Henson apparently so Disney has no interests in it so far...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Well it's way better than some company getting them cheap for like 20 million if EMTV went bust, selling the creature shop, sacking the staff, closing the company, putting the puppets into storage or a museam, and then just making money year after year on selling the old shows and movies...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Re: Longterm: I don't like it Yeah i agree, but if some people with alleged highly placed sources are to be believed, they were all but planning whereabouts Eisner and Rivkin would stand at Disneyland to announce the big sale news. I just think their interest was way over stated to...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Murgatoad All of the main bidders signed letters of intent that got them into the final round - Saban, Valentine, Classic Media and Entertainment Rights. Henson/EMTV didn't have to sign letters of intent - it was those companies that had to declare they were interested in making a serious...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

Actually a few articles stated that EMTV were looking for a co-partnership if they could get it. I thought maybe the Henson management might have offered a deal if that were the case but maybe not. The main thing here is that this is NOT a final sale just yet - it's like someone has nearly...

It's Christmas Day In The UK So Happy Holidays !

Well it's been December 25th for an hour now in the UK so just had to hop on to say Merry Christmas and all that. I'm just watching TV and finishing some work at home - haven't been to the candlelit midnight church service for a few years since i accidentally nearly burnt the place down...

EM.TV to sell 49.9% of Henson to Dean Valentine

I think it's probably more to do with their internal problems - they aren't in a position to buy a company like Henson right now with all it's own problems to sort out. They may well have stepped in if the price was low and who knows what happened behind the scenes but it seems that EMTV were...

**** - told ya it wasn't going to be Disney didn't i ? huh huh - and you guys thought i was just the manically insane guy who has the penguin gimmick *evil laugh* :D Seriously, it's not a bad outcome - not the greatest, not the worst and certainly changes won't be as dramatic as if someone...

    Ask Ken at Palisades

The very first batch from China that made it to the UK were absolutely perfect, at least from looking at them on cards. Out of 30 or so figures at two stores near me, not one flaw visible to the eye. Shame one of those stores closed down yesterday though - a comic shop - now i only have one...
