Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

He honestly felt like nothing more than a one and done deal who just happened to get one extra season.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

No yeah, I’m all for whichever seasons people wish to enjoy on their own terms. I just personally don’t find any spark when it comes to the street material from (most) of the 70s and early 80s, sans some nice little funny bits and stories thrown in here and there. I watched the show during the...

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

Season 2 for me is honestly on the same level of 1. It just has a much more colorful look with better lighting, more background shades and the introduction of the Lavender AM.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

My problem with most of the 70s (and early 80s) scene material is how most of it is just random and improvised. Sure, they have funny bits here and there, but I’d rather take street scenes with stories than one where it’s just the adults and kids looking at an animal and then playing “One of...

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

I mean….. he’s technically not wrong on that. (CTW) In all fairness I don’t mind most of the inserts (the only ones I never really cared for were Buddy and Jim; they have their moments, but more often I find them rather annoying, particularly Jim), but watching a full show including the street...

Index of shows where a segment appeared

Yeah that definitely left a sour taste in my mouth when watching those segments.

Index of shows where a segment appeared

I mean I think it applies to most segments really. Some have been pulled for gaining controversy later on, sure, but most instances segments just come and go. The idea that every single one pulled has a very specific reason is, I think, looking into too much detail.

Index of shows where a segment appeared

I mean I think that’s literally the case. Many segments just end up retiring because they don’t feel the need to re-air them anymore. Everything has to go eventually.

Index of shows where a segment appeared

I think it's more of a case of the segments just being pulled naturally rather than a controversial reason.

"What happens next" sketch with Ernie

Well at this point your only best bet is to hope for the best, because that and its forgeign dub where the video source came from are the only available copies right now.

My guy, did you not see the words “fan dub” in that title?

    Human Cast Catelogue--Please Check!

To be honest, the more I re-watch some of those skits (one in particular being the Africa skit), he honestly sounds like Matt Robinson when Roosevelt had that deep voice in season 1.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

There really is no definite answer on why shows are missing. Sometimes things just end up getting lost.

    Welcome Sesame

There are ways to save videos off YouTube, my dude.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

I’m honestly starting to wonder if those maybe just got misplaced. But realistically, all I’d really be more of interested in seeing are Ernie and Bert clips (even if they aren’t ones that didn’t surface in 2017).

Sesame Street Episode 847 with Margaret Hamilton

If it were a mere ten seconds then I think that could at least fall under fair use. But it’s understandable about wanting to avoid it.
