I can assure you that the reason Frank left does not have to do with his Muppets behaving badly. If you have read any interview that Frank has done, he likes to drop the "f-bomb" quite a lot. I did not see it, but supposedly he even said it on the Today Show. Frank just wanted to stop doing...
First off, it's obvious that casting Ashanti wasn't anyone's ideal choice. I mean they signed her just a few weeks before filming, so it's apparent that they had offered the part to many other women before her. However, everyone I talk to is happy with Ashanti's co-stars. I think they did a...
As I said on another board earlier, the stuff about Brian is not true. Brian is not on the set because he is directing something in LA, not because he is mad. He is the executive producer of the movie, so he can do pretty much what he wants. :)
Jerry is just retiring. He is older and his health is not that great, and he would not rather travel anymore. He is going to stay on at Sesame Street, and that is it. :sing:
I can tell you that the Brian Henson stuff isn't true. He's directing something else right now...here's a quote from the Henson website:
"He (Brian) is currently in pre-production on Frances, an animated series based on the Frances Treasury best-selling books and featuring the Company’s...
Frank moved onto other things and we just have to realize how fortunate we were to see such a talented person's work for so many years. Also, I don't get your comment about how Dave Goelz has "annoyingly taken over the Muppets." You're mad at Frank for moving onto other things, but then you said...
It was sort of funny to hear the recent Sesame Street Christmas CD because people like Olivia and Dave were edited out and replaced by Hoots and Elmo...I think they must have had Kevin Clash come in one day and fix the whole CD by himself! :p
I don't think HIT would own 100% of them but I have heard some rumors that one or both of the "Toy" shows is going to be released on DVD but with Kermit edited out as narrator. :)
I think a good idea for the Muppets would be to do some specials...like little spoofs or smaller holiday shows that will not put so much pressure on them to get ratings week after week. We know that networks have no patience for their series, so periodic specials may be the best thing for them...
The Henson kids saved the company from being sold to Classic Media, which would have been the end of the Muppets. They took a huge beating on the EMTV deal because the stock dropped so low and that's what they were mostly paid with. When they bought the company back, they were in a lot of...
I know Frank didn't have time to take on more characters, but we don't know if he could sound like Jim's characters or not. I bet he could get close to Dr. Teeth...but that's just a guess. :D
No, I believe Frank had too many characters anyways to take on some of Jim's. I wonder if he could do someone like Dr. Teeth with the low raspy voice that is similar to some of Frank's characters.
Actually, Jim later said that the word "Muppet" has nothing to do with marionettes because they don't rellay do that kind of puppetry. He said he just liked the name!
Also, I know on TimePiece that the credits say "Muppets, Inc." in it. But we know Disney doesn't own that property. So I...
