I don't suggest you use glue. The fleece is best "stuck on" by sewing it around the puppet....kind of how a sock goes around your foot. Its like a skin. The key is to get the fleece sew around the puppet and then to sew up the opening to finally finish it. So in essesnse you're draping the...
Wow, those green screen outfits look so clinical. It looks like they're the team of government scientist sent to examine the aliens. LOL. I think that "Its a Big, Big World" looks awesome and love the show because its as if the puppets are really freely floating. They do a good job with camera...
There are a few ways you can do this. If the puppets are going to be competing in the talent show, you need to make sure they don't win. Its kind of unethical for them to be hosting and possibly walking away with a prize. My suggestion is to make the skits go totally awry like they did on the...
Just wondering if anyone has a free pattern that would allow a newbie to explore puppet construction. I think the end products of Project Puppet look great, but I wanted to start with something more simple, and perhaps less work. Aside from attaching a pair of eyes to a sock, is there an easy...
I thought this was pretty funny because it kept the cheery attitude of the characters with the juxtopposed subject matter. The characters were horribly made, but it goes with the campy nature of the skit. Very funny and sad.
Congradulations! I saw the story on Reuters! I thought that the puppet had the most fun design (blue skin..hello!). The runner up for design, I'd say was Miss Greta Green, with a larger than life feel. Keep up the awesome work!
Not sure if anyone was into Teddy, but in the 80's, I was a huge fan. A new company is bringing back the doll with MP3 technology (no more cassette tapes!). Just thought I'd share it since Teddy was my first puppet-esque toy.

The Fraggle base figure is almost always the same. I would just make the arms and legs longer. Don't even worry about changing the body since Mokey wears a long robe.
The only thing that needs changing is the fleece color, arm and leg length, and hair color. I'd also add some eye lids to give...
I've been readin the forums and notice a lot of people talk about two things:
1. People wanting to touch the puppets.
2. People asking "where can I get a puppet like that?"
It made me think of how lucrative a puppet/plush doll tie-in would be after a preformance. Those that design with antron...
Just checked on ping pong balls...it seems there are 20mm, 38mm, and 40mm (typical) sizes. The right size is going to depend on how big you scale the puppet.
Here is my suggestion: Use the plush toy to get a scale. For example, make Kermit's head measurement Y. Then measure the rest of his body and make them factors of Y (math fun!) For example, if the arms are 4 inches long on the plush, and the legs are 5 inches long, you can multiply them.
An...
Really nice work there. I was checking out your other figures and you do a wonderful job with texture. The Muppets are all about tactile visuals...its what makes people want to touch and hug them so much. I really like the work you're doing. Keep it up.
I'd use some processed ones, which can be sold at craft stores. They also make some great looking artificial ones that are dyed bright colors. Are you looking to create something realistic or more fantasy?
In "Muppet Wizard of Oz" I thought Quentin Tarantino and Piggy discussed doing another film together. I always assumed Piggy learned from the white-haired sensai from "Kill Bill." LOL.
