i finally have time to read it this weekend, so i just picked it up on my way home today, & the woman at the checkout saw the book & smiled, rang it up, gave the book a hug & and sang pinball number count :)
agreed. and think of all the kids they have on the show who see all the muppeteers--they still look like they see the muppets as real and they don't even notice the guy on the floor moving his mouth while the monster is talking.
if you have a pc it's in control panel, sounds & audio devices, and under the sounds tab there's a list of all the things you can set sounds for, so you highlight the one you want, click browse and go to the mp3 file you want in there. if you have a mac i can't help you. but i assume its similar.
just made 'em. you can use audacity to edit any mp3 down to a little clip & set it as any of the sound settings on your computer. my startup noise is the yip yips going "hello, hello, greetings, hello, hi there," my noise when the computer goes to sleep & wakes up is ernie going "bert! oh...
no, that one is on youtube and it doesn't have the line. and i specifically remember the line because i remember that's how i learned andretti was a racecar driver and devito played a grouchy guy on taxi. but it might have been from the same episode. it's on the same theme of bonding over...
if jim & jerry greet you when you turn on your computer and the last voice you hear every night as you shut your computer down is that of a furry blue monster.
ok so i've got a chronology question then...because 1990-91 was the last year i watched ss, but i distinctly remember 14 Carrot Love, and he says he's Benny in that skit. muppet wiki has him only appearing as a generic bunny until 1993, but i was definitely not watching then...so maybe you knew...
hey count, you're on now so perhaps you're already taking care of twelping, the newest member of the forum to have a website for a favorite character. just reading through this list--the sheer amount of spam is mind boggling! but i never see their posts, so you must be doing a great job. thanks!
yay! glad you can make it! & thanks for helping me out by helping me recoup the cost of my tendency to click "buy now" before i think about it, :o. yes, we shall correspond over pm.
yeah, as hideous as these characters are, i agree that they're just kind of the extreme of 70s cartoon style. they remind me a lot (especially :)) of the drawings in the sesame street book and record, which were done by a different guy, brian cranner. and not all the cartoons in the book &...
as an historian, i must weigh in on this...yes, it seems excessive, and i dislike such things as a taxpayer. but the one thing that stood out to me while half-watching my choppy internet feed, was the ritual involved. 2/3 of my attention was going towards writing about ceremonial symbolism of...
i've got a mouth question to add--what type of material makes a kermit type mouth, that is flexible enough to scrunch up and make all those expressive faces, but firm enough to hold its shape for normal speaking? or does most of kermit's flexibility come from his head?
:attitude: well, it's easier to reach 1,000 if you keep posting about how many posts you've posted. i wonder how long it would take all of you if only specifically muppet-related posts counted...(she says, shamelessly posting a post about posts just for the sake of posting...);)
st. james infimary blues. i'm listening to cab calloway right now, but i can never listen to just one version...i'm sure i'll listen to 5 or 6, from blues to jazz to rock before i move on...such a good song.
they're not going anywhere. good luck with the negotiations...i know how that goes...i didn't even ask my bf, i went for my cousin & billed it as a girls' night out with dinner, but i think i still have some negotiating to do myself on the details... but let us know if you need any suggestions...
well, if you don't take them, i'll get stuck with the full cost--it's not like i know anyone else who wants to go. so really anything helps. how about $40 for the pair? (they're $45 each + $4 processing fee online).
