Getting to know the Sesame Street Animators

"Billy Joe Jive" was a series of mid-70s cartoon segments about a black kid detective (Billy Joe Jive) who solved mysteries in New York City...maybe you've seen them, and you just don't remember them...they were still airing in 1986, when you started watching the show. I'm sure someone else...

Getting to know the Sesame Street Animators

Hey, Boober Gorg...do you know who did the Billy Joe Jive segments? Or is that another thing you haven't figured out yet. Also, in case you want to know of another SS animator, I think Ken Snyder (who did Roger Ramjet, among other cartoon series) worked on SS segments at some point...I...

    Sam & Friends

The Museum of Television and Radio is in Beverly Hills, CA, and New York, NY (Manhattan, to be precise). Basically, near the two epicenters of American television.

Getting to know the Sesame Street Animators

I think Filmation did the Jughead "J" segment, the Superman "S" segment, and the Batman & Robin cartoon segments. I'm not sure, though.

    People on seasme street. (80-86)

Well, two African-American women were on SS. One of them, Susan (Gordon's wife) still appears on SS, but not very often. The other one, Olivia (Gordon's sister), left in 1986 when Alaina Reed (the actress who portrayed her) left to join the cast of 227.

    Sesame Street censorship

Sesame Street had some cartoon shorts with a guy trying to read a sign, and something happening to him...and The Electric Company had some like that too...except that the SS ones were words, and the TEC ones were commands ("Duck", "Do not enter", etc.)

    Thirty minuite work week

Well, "The Thirty-Minute Work Week" was the very first episode of Fraggle Rock to be taped, so it probably looks kind of weird because they hadn't completely refined the puppets yet...

    Guy Smiley puppet???

Salvador Dada (the painter) used the yellow Anything Muppet (also used for Guy) "I would never call that painting 'Number Five'! It's a silly name!" "Then what do you call it?" "I call it...'Chicken Soup'!"

    Disco Frog

No, the episode was made in 1979...he had already filmed Superman. Piggy even tore apart Chris' dressing room looking for his Superman outfit...

Looking for audio of Jim Henson

No, I saw OM&M...Jerry is seen onscreen, and heard in the background sometimes, but his voice is not clearly heard anywhere (i.e., no interviews).

Looking for audio of Jim Henson

Too late. I have now heard his voice many many times...and Frank Oz several times...and Richard once...but I have yet to hear Dave Goelz, Jerry Nelson, or anyone else's real voice. The one I am most curious about is Jerry Nelson, since his vocal range is so wide it's hard to pinpoint what his...

    Christmas Eve on Sesame Street

The stomach cancer thing is true. That's what he died of. (And he did look sick for a long time...he got bloated because of his cancer (and possibly as a side effect of medications he may have had to take), and you can see this on late-80s episodes of Sesame Street). Also, I do not believe one...

    How about Snuffy?

Well, Davis said that he performed the front half and the voice at one point, and was picked by Kermit Love to replace Jerry Nelson. Also, he said he has performed Forgetful Jones (probably while Richard was in London) and Slimey the Worm (probaby prior to 1980-81, when Robinson joined the...

Muppet movie with the best music overall?

What Muppet movie do you think has the best music overall (as in, score and songs). IMO, it's The Great Muppet Caper. It has a bunch of great songs, and a great instrumental score as well. I love "The Big Red Bus" and various other sections. What does everyone else think? What Muppet movie...
