Hey, all,
Anyone besides me going to Dragon*Con in Atlanta this weekend? We've got several guests from Farscape coming including Anthony Simcoe (D'Argo) and Lani Tupu (Crais, and the voice of Pilot). We've also got at least one panel discussing the cancellation of the series and our hopes for...
Fascinating. So Elmo merchandise now COMPETES with Kermit merchandise on the shelves? It sounds like you're saying SS toys had to have a specifically educational purpose in the past, whereas now they can just be cute things to hug. Of course, I remember from growing up that a lot of my SS toys...
Well, that's what I'd tried before, and I was still getting weird unwanted messages. But I just checked, and at the moment the only threads I'm subscribed to now are the Sullivan DVD thread and this one. So hopefully that will hold (that is, I won't get any more old threads). At any rate, thanks...
Why is it that when I post in a brand new thread that I'm really interested in (the Sullivan DVD thread, in this case), I DON'T get e-mail notification of new postings, yet I still get notifications about someone posting in, say, a "Left-Handedness" thread from two years ago? Even after I've...
No, I'M not making a distinction. I'm just talking about the legal necessities. It's great that most of the nation, and Muppet fans, and maybe even Henson themselves, still see Sesame characters as part of the Muppets. But the fact is that if Sesame characters are used in a "regular" Muppet...
I'm drooling over the pictures right now. :excited: I don't want to read the article till I play the DVD myself. But there's lots of good stuff there!
BTW, Ryan on TP points out that Amazon has changed the release date to Sep. 2...
Wow! This is fabulous news. Neither of the John Denver specials ever air on TV like the rest of the Muppet specials, so it's quite a treat that fans will finally be able to get them both. Imagine: we'll get to buy 2 Muppet Christmas DVDs in one year! :excited:
I've never seen the Rocky...
Putting their money where . . .
Some Scapers even established an independent group called The Viewer
Consortium to explore various ways in which viewers can directly finance quality
television shows such as "Farscape."
Ambitious stuff, but 20 years ago fans brought back CBS'...
Thought you all might find this interesting...though the well-meaning article writer gets a few things wrong, i.e. "Farscape's ratings didn't improve even after being pared with SG-1," not "Farscape's ratings were just fine till Sci-Fi bumped it from its slot with SG-1." (And that's nothing...
This is indeed Sprocket from Fraggle Rock. He has no lines; he just has a cameo appearance for a few scenes.
As for your other questions:
1) I take it you mean is one of the famous Muppets playing the roles, just as Kermit plays Bob Cratchit? If you mean that, the answer is no. As Mustang...
Worked fine for me. And I didn't have to lie about my age either. :smirk: And I also didn't have to check any boxes for their mailing lists (by law, they can't make you do that anyway).
The main thing that concerned me was the Privacy Policy. Sony has one, but what about Rhino, the main...
I completely agree with you that the TMS DVDs are not all they could or should be. But does that justify stealing their content from a website? If that's the case, what a person is really saying is "I actually DO like the content; I'm just using my griping as an excuse to do whatever I want with...
Well, we've got little bitty creatures having their souls sucked out by giant skeleton-like birds. Not exactly the cheeriest of stories. It's got amazing production design, but the film is quite a bit dark, even for my tastes.
I have my tapes handy; the Muppet tapes were definitely released by Playhouse, the SS tapes by Random House. It sounds like Phil just made a simple mistake (they've both got "house" in the title, they both came out around the same time, they're both compilation videos). Someone probably should...
Very cool and intriguing! Thanks for posting this, Phil. For legal reasons, I don't think we'll hear anything till after the sale is finalized on Aug. 1, or maybe not even till after the Creation con in November woos potential bigwigs. But it's always nice to know what's in the works.
