IF Conky is considered a puppet, then is R2D2 a puppet?

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

Hey Mickey ("you're so fine," etc. :) ), be sure to post if everything goes smoothly with that seller. He's got some other things that I would be interested in buying if he is legit. I saw the link listed on a Star Wars site as being fairly reputable, but it was from a year ago.

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

I found this link recently, and though I don't know anything about this website (the "about" page hasn't been updated in 3 years), I thought someone here might be interested: http://www.drtonguestoys.com/store.cgi?product=JapaneseToys&sku=Ja-649878&cart_id=51669369_11447_86&refer_id=

    Pee Wee's Playhouse

I don't know what a "puppet" really is or isn't, but I would say those flowers, Pteri (another marionette), Globie, and Mr. Kite,at least.

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

Interesting, so it's kind of an interest in "Americana" more than any intrinsic interest in the actual characters or licenses?

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

I'm pretty sure that those were only released in Japan (if they are targeted to the U.S., then it seems rather crazy to have to rely on the secondary market for all their U.S. sales), but it is a bit surprising to me that most Kubrick lines aren't released, at least, in the U.S. as well as Japan...

And so the hunt for the exclusives begins!

Good luck! I hope your pocketbook survives the experience.

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

If they were released in the U.S. (and thus relatively inexpensive), then I may not mind so much, but having to pay exorbitant prices for the chance of getting what you want can be tough to justify for completists. I actually ordered 10 blind boxed Muppet Kubricks a couple of days ago, with the...

    Nintendo Wii

I've got Piggy, Janice, and Floyd Miis. None of them are very great. I like the Wii, but not as much as my DS.

Jim Henson's Fantastic World in Baton Rouge

Not sure where this should be posted precisely, BUT, if anyone is going to be near Baton Rouge, LA in the next month or so, be sure to come to the Louisiana Art and Science Museum to check out "Jim Henson's Fantastic World." http://www.lasm.org/stage/html/ee_ex_henson.html I just got around to...

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

It is true that, in terms of block figures, it is mostly about the style that you like best. Some like really exaggerated, large heads, some like the Lego style, some like more posability, etc. And one thing that Kubricks has over all the others is their licenses--Lost, Muppets, Metal Gear...

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

In terms of Muppet block figures, what we need is Muppets Minimates! They are U.S.-based, have significantly better articulation than Kubricks, are are just cooler. Here is a picture of part of my Minimate collection, to give you an idea: They are terribly addictive, though :(

    Star Wars Prototypes

Personally, I'm just not a fan of "non-articulated" mini-plastic statues, so my opinion might not be 100% objective. Having said that, I think that these look like something that would have been produced in the 1970s. They do look cheap and outdated. But then, maybe they're going for that...

    Scatman Crothers

I know of Scatman mostly from his work as Jazz on the Transformers. He had a great, distinctive voice (as did many of the voice actors on that show, such as the late, great Chris Latta, who did Starscream and Cobra Commander on the GI Joe series). I had read somewhere that he was initially...

    Zoot, Lips, & Jim

I think that Frogboy is dead on. Unfortunately, it's just one of those things now. If you want them so badly, then you'll just have to account for it in your budget, buy them, and then you shall be satiated. . . . . for a while, and then you will think, "I paid that much money for this?"...

    No more CDs?

 You know what I mean, as in a completely electronic file made up of discrete data code, rather than a plastic container for storing and transmitting digitally-based information (the information's digital, the DVDs ain't). I obviously didn't put a lot of thought in what I wrote b/c I...

    No more CDs?

Honestly, I think both CDs and DVDs are moving toward being completely digital. Why would companies spend the money and effort to manufacture and distribute plastic disks when they can make substantially higher profits producing digital files that you can download on demand and store on a flash...
