G4 is a cable/satellite channel that supposedly is based around videogames. HOWEVER, I recently had access to it, and it was mostly cruddy Japanese game shows, episodes of COPS (yes, that COPS), and one of the least funny "funny" news shows I've ever seen called "Attack of the Show," where they...
I saw that, too. . .on an somewhat related note, have you seen "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters"? Excellent, excellent documentary about a Donkey Kong controversy, that is actually being made into a dramatic movie, strangely enough.
I can't stand Michael Bay, what he stands for, how me makes films, how he treats the audience, etc. The only redeeming qualities to the TF movie, to me, was Peter Cullen's voice and Megatron's personality. The forthcoming GI Joe movie is being produced by one of the major producers of...
Yeah, I saw a videogame documentary a few weeks ago, and they were talking about how bad Colecovision and Atari, etc. did toward the end of their respective runs, and how Nintendo was really a gamble here in the states. I think they threw all that stuff together, with all the gimmicks like the...
I was much in the same boat. I loved TFs, but only had a few (Optimus, Superion, Jetfire, Soundwave, and a few others). But lordy, I am making up for it now with all the Classics, Alts, Masterpiece and, of course, G1 figures in my collection. GI Joes were, and are, my first 80s cartoon love...
I just got that one last week--the black and white one. I also got the Goofy, Peter Pan, and some Nightmare Before Christmas Kubs. However, my very favorite Disney Kub is in the mail to me as I write this--the Rocketeer!
Anyway, to answer the question, the last thing I bought on eBay was. ...
Rob the Robot! He has had a kind of resurgence of late, appearing in the Mario Kart games and Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii.
A buddy of mine had the Power Glove, and it never worked right for me.
I wish I had kept up with the Japanese that I learned in high school all those years ago. Even taking the expensive shipping into account, lord knows how much cheaper it would be to buy certain Kubricks from yahoo Japan than it is here (the Star Wars ones, particularly).
Another Piggy auction just popped up:

The Sesame Street ones seem relatively easy to come by, and are frequently on eBay (even some with...
:) Indeed it does. I have seen more disturbing Kubricks, but this one is certainly distinctive in it's own right.
Also, your discussion of the influences of the Palisades figures on the Kubricks led to me comparing them. So, if anyone here is interested:
I got them from www.verycoolthings.com, which I posted about earlier in this thread. Sadly, however, they should not have any more in stock.
Here is the full story, for anyone interested: I ordered 10 blind boxes of Muppet figs from their website early last month, but after a few weeks, found...
Well, I got the Muppet Kubricks (minus Beaker) in the mail a couple days ago, and overall, I really like them. But I must say, Miss Piggy is the disappointment of the set to me. The face likeness is off, and they picked a strange hair style for her.
Further, they did fat stomaches for some...
I really like the Boba Fett beer. They are slightly smaller than regular Be@rbricks, aren't they? In other Kubrick news, I actually got Batman, Joker, and Catwoman Kubricks today (from the Tim Burton movies), and they are really great. They costed me around $20 a piece, but they were worth...
A little over an hour left on this auction:

Maybe the argument could be made that Kubricks aren't really human "likenesses" so much as exaggerated caricatures? Or, it may be that the legal fight is just not worth the effort for figures released exclusively in Japan.
Wow, what a cool site. I'm probably going to order from there at some point just for the fast shipping (and the Animated Batman Kubs). On the other hand, I can't recommend verycoolthings.com. I placed my order on the 2nd, and after hassling them last week, finally got them to tell me that...
