I understand. It's alright to use comparisons like that. I do it often too. I guess it's just a matter of remembering what we were talking about in the first place. Lol.
Well, that's a bit irrelevant here, but that's a good point. June has been great as Granny for many years and I couldn't imagine anybody else taking over the role, though I think she turned 92 this month, so I guess at some point some one will take over. But I guess that's more of a discussion...
Yeah. That's a good point. I guess I was thinking that because of his 50th b-day. But the older Muppateer's are well in their 70s. That might be the case with Steve at some point, but not now. I guess I'll just have to take back what I said in my last post. Kermit shouldn't have an...
Okay, now I'm going to have to stop you on that one, because a lot of Muppets do have understudys. Matt Vogel occassionally subbing for Carroll Spinney as Big Bird is an example. Then there's Jerry Nelson, who's health has sort of gone downhill lately. If his characters, specifically the Count...
Yeah. I was thinking that too, because that's what causes threads to close. People are entitled to their opinions, but we don't want things to lead to harsh arguments.
O.K., you might want to back up a little bit there. Actually, Paul Winchell has continued to perform Tigger in a few other projects, but Disney felt that Paul was getting too old to properly portray the character, so I hear they did fire him. But maybe I'm wrong on that. I hope I am and that...
Well, he might have a point. Matt Vogel's Big Bird often sounds a bit like Carroll Spinney's early version of Big Bird. So hopefully if the time comes for Carroll to retire and Matt takes over BB full time, his Big Bird voice might start to be closer to the one we know. So if Artie does take...
It's alright. That's sort of one thing I noticed. Upon seeing Steve's performances as Kermit, a lot of people on the forums mentioned that they weren't all that happy with Steve as :), but now that somebody else is performing him (which is hopefully temporary), we'd all much rather have Steve...
I agree. Artie has a lot of potential as I've noticed on the MTV thing. If the time ever came that Steve could no longer perform Kermit, I could see Artie performing him regularly. But we're all hoping that we're not at that point yet.
It was? I don't watch the show much so I haven't been following what was going on. But I suppose they could have a Gonzo appearance next season. Something to think about.
Wow! I didn't watch it and it seems like I didn't miss anything. It does make me mad that NBC did that though. That's exactly the same as what they did with when they said Miss Piggy would be on the 'Today' show. At least that appearance they rescheduled. Hopefully, they'll do the same with...
Yeah, like I said. There's really nothing against Artie. It's just not the Kermit we've known for years since after Henson's death. Artie, if you do read these posts, we want you to know we respect you and all. Maybe you can fill us in as to where Steve has been.
Yeah. Seems like we found everything but what's going on with Steve. Sorry if I sound too obsessed over that. I know I mentioned it in a lot of my posts, but I know where all a little concerned about this. Hopefully, he'll continue to perform Kermit in these new appearances.
Well, like I said, this Kermit performance was sort of an improvement over the last one, so he can improve within time. It's just not the time yet. Like other people have said, if Steve is still around, he should be the only Kermit. But if his health is failing or something like that, I guess...
I checked out the clip. I don't think Artie or whoever it was did that bad a job as Kermit. It's just the fact that Steve is missing that's problematic.
Wayne Allwine passed away? I didn't know that. Who's going to voice Mickey now? I guess with cases of swine flu and all these celebrity deaths going on this year, there is definitely a concern about what's going on with Steve. I signed the petition on that. Hopefully we'll get some answers...
That sounds cool. I'm thinking maybe that's why Steve didn't perform Kermit in 'America's Got Talent.' He might have been busy working on this. Just a theory, but I could be wrong if the movie was filmed before it happened. Besides, if that were true, then Eric Jacobson probably wouldn't...
