Software engineer by profession, video engineer by inclination :-) I specialise in making computers do things they really shouldn't (occasionally on purpose). I probably shouldn't say who I work for since my opinion of the company is less than complimentary...
Now heavily into digital video...
Unlikely :-) The UK releases will have been taken from UK PAL masters, which have always been uncut. There's no way they'd be taking the US masters and converting them!
As with the US masters, the opening titles were replaced some time in the late 80s as far as I know, and these tapes form...
Nah, it's been there since at least the second version of the puppet. I was watching TMM last night, and her uvula is clearly visible and movin' during 'Can You Picture That?' Look closely when she sings 'You don't have to buy a frame!' It's more noticeable in later puppets - see 'Jingle Bell...
Further to the above, Statler's line following 'Tenderly' in the Avery Schreiber show should read:
STATLER: I was just thinking, a propos of nothing, but is it pronounced "tomayto" or "tomahto"?
The chap's in the US, right? Due to the way they work, I can't use standards-converted copies :-( Nevertheless, thanks for the info! I'll drop him a line anyway...
The rest of the show (apart from the end credits) is a high-grade digital recording with no onscreen graphics. The end credits, being a standard sequence of shots, were matted out using the credit roll from another show. This leaves the opening shot as literally the only piece of footage with...
:D
I have a copy of the shot with the Disney Channel logo in the top-right corner. If I can get hold of a copy with nothing in that corner, I can matte the two together to create a clean version of the shot...
Method to my madness, there is!
Hi,
I'm searching for a PAL copy of the opening shot (the zoom in to the TMS logo) from this episode. I'd prefer one with no on-screen logos, subtitles, etc, but so long as the top-right corner is clear of these, it'll do nicely :-)
If anyone can help, please drop me an email. Thanks!
Hi,
Does anyone know of any photos from this special, apart from those used on the album covers and poster? I'd be very, very grateful for any help! :D
Thanks!
The master must be a little older than that - the original UK release was done in the late 80s and has those changes.
Now, if anyone can supply me with a decent copy of the cut scene, I can edit it back in... :D
Hopefully when (if?) there is a UK DVD, it will at least be the same edit as the VHS, but there's no guarantee - rights for DVD use are frequently different to those for VHS. I've got programmes on VHS which had to be altered slightly for their DVD release a few years later because the...
