Er...did anyone else just notice a site outage?

This isn't quite the same error, but it's still weird. I just got in, I could view the forum main page, I could view individual forums, but when I tried to view any posts, I got a standard 'Server not found' error from IE. This has now cleared up, and I don't know how long it's been going on...

Interesting thing about Muppet Central that can wreak havoc on people computers...

I'd like to propose a compromise: a simple message, permanently on the front page, which says something like, "In order to fully appreciate this site, Flash is required. If you cannot see the menu bar at the top of the page, please download Flash from here.", and provide a link to Macromedia...

Yeah, very different! If I did that, the insurance would be in my father's name, and despite me being the main/only driver, I wouldn't accumulate any no-claims bonus. This is a particularly irritating thing - I wan on my dad's insurance and drove his car for two years before I bought my first...

No, he lives 200 miles to the south :-) Anyway, that would be illegal - I'm the registered keeper of the vehicle, so it has to be insured to my address.

Is anyone in here related to any famous people

Ooh, it's always nasty when your own body starts ganging up on you! I've just had two teeth out for that reason.

Minimum liability is third-party cover. The car's worth enough to justify having fully comprehensive cover, which currently comes to around £400 a year. The reason it's so high is a combination of my age, the car's engine size, and my postcode (zipcode to you). I get windscreen/glass cover in...

I wonder if it'll bring my premiums down...? For some reason, adding my father to the policy cut it by £40 this year...despite the fact he lives 200 miles away and has driven my car, like, twice! Weird...

My father was a nun. What? He was too! Every time the judge asked what his occupation was, he'd say 'none'. I know, I know, I'll get me coat...

Oh, is that what they were? :p I know exactly what I'm doing and where I'm going. There's a world of difference between not needing to think, and not bothering! My driving technique works well, and gives me more time to yell at the idiots you describe. :) To be fair, were I to drive in...

No, no, it's not like that! I drive by instinct, without needing to think about it. Putting me in a car where all the controls are in the 'wrong' places, and where I have to deal with driving on the 'wrong' side of the road is asking for trouble! :D

I'm pretty certain I shouldn't try driving on the right, given my method of driving!

I always get kinda freaked when I'm the passenger in a left-hand drive car - I'm sitting in the front seat, door to my right, gear shift to my left, and this gaping space where the rest of the controls should be! And the driver kept banging his left hand against his door every time he...

S'interesting! All European cars have it between the seats, which is probably more convenient when it's a manual shift (as most vehicles are).

Yeah, we get a few vehicles designed like that, too. Driving position for the majority of UK locomotives is also on the left, due to the signals being on the left side of the track. Something I've always been curious about: the (admittedly few) American cars I've been in all seem to have the...

Should a UK person order 25th Anniv. Muppet CD?

An audio CD is an audio CD is an audio CD! It'll work in any CD player. Anyway, if you order from Amazon.co.uk, it'll be the UK operation that handles your order. Amazon.com may be cheaper, but the postage could outweigh the savings. :)
