My thoughts exactly... not like MB is screening here, or there's any other MB promotion or activity going on that warrants a fast food promotion. Maybe it was all they could get their hands on after McDonald's had licenced everything else?
OK, as a vegan and a tree-hugger, I can't believe I was ever going to plug a fast-food place, but you can call it a conflict of passion when Muppets are involved.
At the Australian (ahem!) "restaurant" Hungry Jack's (the Aus name for Burger King) they are now offering Muppet Babies toys as...
Like David, Roosevelt Franklin and Uncle Wally, Willy the hot dog vendor is one character I am only familiar with through the internet, the Unpaved book &c. I know for a fact that David and Willy were around when I was of viewing age, but I just didn't remember or acknowledge either of them...
I've seen worse...
Hey that's nothing compared to the Punky Brewster cigarette case/lighter set that I saw on eBay once... with little Punky's face on em
Really fit in with the whole "just say no" episode that everyone seems to remember vividly
I know that Willy appears (without lines) in Follow That Bird...
These two characters, like David, were ones who were obviously around during my viewing days, but without the internet and SS Unpaved, I never would have remembered them or even known who they were.
Hey all,
I have spare in-original-packaging Fisher Price stick puppets from the 70s. I have "seconds" of five out of the seven in the series, so if anyone wants to make a deal to get hold of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Rowlf, Gonzo and Scooter, just drop me a line.
If, on the other hand, you're...
Kermit
Miss Piggy
Fozzie
Scooter
Sweetums
Gonzo
Swedish Chef
Zoot
um... hang on, I'll get there...
Animal
Sam...
and um...
Rowlf...
ok I'm almost there I'm sure...
oh of course, Statler and Waldorf
Cherry "I'm sure I could have just looked it up" Pizza
WOO HOO! I now have all of them except Zoot, and I have the display box from the stores too
*does a happy dance*
Just one question I have about them though:
Popping up on eBay from time to time are those exact figurines, but standing on plastic bases like this one here or these ones...
Well they wouldn't say that, since Gordon only went through two transformations:
1st transformation: Gordon 1 ===> Gordon 2
2nd transformation: Gordon 2 ===> Gordon 3
Cherry "yes, I learned to count on Sesame Street" Pizza
Ok, I cringed when I saw that a special would focus on Elmo... but having the character who is the focus of SS today learning to appreciate the full scope of the history and diversity of the street, sounds like a very positive use of character
The parade doesn't screen here in Australia, so all I saw of it was the pre-parade buildup on NBC Today (which airs at about 3am here, so I wasn't completely conscious, LOL)
So does anyone know of anywhere on the net with pics of the parade, 'specially the SS float?
A lovely idea, but Sesame Street merchandise for adults is almost unheard of... even news of the SS action figures is coming with the disclaimer that they have to be kid-friendly too.
How we all wish that "Children's" books, TV shows would release merchandise that shows it is concious of its...
Hmmm... been a while since I've seen L&H, but I'm just thinking of the way that Oliver tried his best to tolerate Stan, and did his best to be the dominant one of the duo... kinda rings classic "straight man" traits.
Anyway, it still holds up to the "rhythm" part of my argument, don't it?
I'm trying to think of an early appearance of his. The only one that comes to mind is "Three Men and a Comic Book" (Bart, Martin and Milhouse buy a copy of the first Radioactive Man)... you're right, in that episode he was somewhat a prototype for the character he is now , but you can see how...
Well, for the sake of fairness, one SS album is titled "Bert and Ernie Sing-Along" (best SS album ever, IMHO) and another is "Having Fun with Ernie and Bert"... in-house it's not always consistent, but fans are always much better on continuity than the people who actually *make* the show. After...
