Ravage, what child do you know that would see a character with something as foreign and mysterious as a disease like HIV/AIDS and have absolutely no curiousity about how the disease came about? I understand the characters role on the show; however, the ripple is what you aren't considering. If...
Its 21 to drink alcohol. But I'm a legal adult in the eyes of the law now. I can serve in the military, vote, and buy cigarettes. Yay? Hehe.
And thanks again everyone, you all rock. Today was good; got a cake, got some money, watched some TMS. :D Not bad at all.
I couldn't find the words that expressed what I meant when I was posting, but these are those words: Shock for shock's sake. Like the creators sat around a table saying "okay, wouldn't it be great to take a Sesame Street concept, strip it of its innocence, and lace it with crudeness?"
I will...
Well my issue is not the broadcast of such a character in Africa. AIDS in Africa is more than a disease at this point; it has become a cultural factor in many African countries (obviously an extremely negative factor, but still an integrated aspect due to its massive spread). There, with the...
Oy vey...first the melee to aquire JHC, now a melee to aquire HIT. This is ridiculous.
Let just hope they put out some FR DVDs before any major shake-ups occur.
According to Brian Henson (par one of his TMS intros), Jim actually had a tape of mock Swedish that he used to help him develope the Swedish Chef's dialogue. He used to play it in the car when he and Brian were driving around, apparently. I'd love to hear what that tape sounded like, hehe.
Well, that is probably because its the only show with a pop-culture joke basis that is readily available for viewing at the time that thread was made. If other shows from a bit farther back were on television today, I'm sure the list would be a bit more varied.
Also, most shows wouldn't...
Do you have your friend's article for comparison? I'd definitely like to read it.
As a Muppet fan who is strongly conservative in the American spectrum of politics, I feel that the subject is inappropriate for an American audience in the 1-5-year-old demographic. If we begin introducing such...
How old are the people you're talk to? Because for a lot of younger Muppet fans MCC was the first Muppet film they saw in theaters. And since its the best Muppet film since Jim's passing (IMO), I suppose it sticks with them.
There is no accounting for passive fans my friend. Thats why I don't...
Chef also runs the projector at Muppet*Vision 3D.
Kermit: Everything okay up there Chef?
Chef: Hoppin hoppin da machine is goin da floomy floom!
Kermit: Thats great!
LOL, gotta love the Chef. :)
There used to be a whole thread dedicated to Muppet referrences and parodies in other shows...it was a while back though, and the search isn't working for me right now so I couldn't get the link for you. I think ryhoarbie (sp?) started it though, and I know its around here somewhere. It was a...
I was just watching some videos about the Pope this morning and saw one regarding this incident. The Pope actually went to the man who shot him and had a private session with him, forgiving him and praying for his soul.
It was at that point that I said to myself "if that doesn't qualify a man...
Ugh, just another show capitolizing on the idea of using a traditionally children-geared medium to deliver crude frat-boy humor. When will this garbage end?
