Have any of you ever seen the video series by Dr. Puppet? All I can say is wow! I learned a ton. So many tips & tricks. This is a must for any new puppet maker! Best $50 I've spent so far...

that's good advice, I got a few cheap pieces that I've been playing with. I was sort of torn on getting the foam book, I've heard mixed reactions about it. Do you really think it's worth it?
Yeah it's pricy, but from all of the online stores I've found that looks like the place to shop. I think 2 feet should do it for any puppet... thoughts on that?
Does anyone know where to order feather trim like the stuff used in this video? All I've been able to find is the stuff that has a thick ribbon attaching it and I haven't had any luck using it so my cats got some new toys lol

Does anyone know if they make like a 3/4 dome eye? Like a fraggle type eye?
I decided that I really didn't like working with ping pong balls for eyes, they took several tries for me to get them to work the way I wanted them to. Can anyone suggest something else that I can get pretty much the same look? almost round like the ones on this one?

With all of the awesome advice and helpful links you guys have provided I can happily post pics of my first puppet.
I wish it came out better but I'm really happy with it being my first try.

Okay so I've realy gotten the hang of working with the foam as far as cutting and glueing, now I'm trying to figure out how darts work. I understand the concept, you cut a v shape and you get a curve. What I'm trying to learn is how to angles and depth affect the curves? Is there a good link...
I've looked at most of his videos and they've been extremely helpful. I was missing one thing that he didn't show in the draping of his frank head, but as I looked deeper into it today he has another video for the body that covers the cutting and stitching the felt. Exactly what I needed!
:scary:
Can anyone share (of their own design), suggest a pattern that I can purchase on the inexpensive side or offer advice on how I could make my own pattern to make a sort of generic fraggle? I'm trying to make one for my niece for her birthday, I have all the supplies and the idea in my head, but...
Yeah I saw the exact same ones at Joann's the other night.

if you take a look at the video see how the feathers are attached to a strip of cloth? I guess that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. I think it would work extremely...
I'm wondering what you pro peeps use for hair? I saw stiqpuppet using ostrich feathers and it looked great. Anyone know any retailers that I could actually walk in and see it before I buy it?
What else do you suggest?
