I wonder how likely the inserts disc will be to have song segments that are also sung in street stories included. I've noticed so far that none of the press releases mention Sing or What's the Name of That Song? being included, especially not on disc 1, which gives me hope that their inclusion...
In UHF, there's two different scenes involving Town Talk, and yet the two scenes make it seem like they're two different shows that share a title, genre, and host. And outside of those scenes, there's never any mention that George Newman hosts a talk show (there's barely any mention that he was...
When The Rescuers was rereleased on home video in 1999, the video was recalled after it was discovered that an image of a topless woman appears in two non-consecutive frames, which can't be seen when played at normal speed. So how did they figure this out after just a couple of days being...
Of all the long-unseen street stories, this and the scenes from episode 1262 (where Hooper's Store is used as a filming location) are the ones I most hope get included (yes, even more than the rare 847).
I wonder if it will be the season 2 version this time. I could see it being the recent celebrity montage (unless there's any celebrities they could not clear for this release). And with a Toughpigs person being involved with contents, I could see the original being more likely to be included...
While I trust Joe's statement that the crossover of segments that appeared in 40 Years of Sunny Days and/or the Old School sets are minimal and we'll be getting a lot more new-to-video content, I do find it interesting that most of what's been confirmed so far via these press releases is stuff...
In the last few years, it seems like there's been a number of celebrity segments that include a brief mention of a letter of the alphabet but aren't really about that letter. Tori Kelly's "Try a Little Kindness" begins with her singing about K standing for Kindness, Sia's "Song About Songs"...
Interesting, as I look at the press release and see some of the celebrities listed, Madeline Kahn has appeared in the oldest clips, as far back as season 9. Maybe it'll include one of her season 9 appearances (I'd guess Sing After Me is most likely), or maybe one of the two street stories she...
Although it has its own thread, I guess I'll mention the news we all know that there'll be an anniversary release, 50 Years and Counting, coming October 1.
I don't think anything with that character has been released on video. I can't even remember if I've ever seen any Flo Bear scenes. Though that's a character I'm not too interested in.
I was looking at the description at Shout's website, and it confirms that it will include Kermit, Alistair Cookie, and The Frazzles. It's interesting it refers to "The Frazzles". Makes me wonder if it'll have the song "Frazzle" (as album releases have credited the singers as "The Frazzletones"...
I wouldn't be surprised if Joe was compiling this when that Sesame Street 50th anniversary poll was done (I suspected it at the time).
So cool that we've got cover art the moment it was announced. Too bad the cover isn't like the 40th cover, where we could be seeing some confirmed segments (I...
I dreamt that I was watching a special showing of The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years, but in many of the montages (especially the one with monsters, eating, and explosions), most of the clips were replaced with footage of the crowds in the special. Some used in other scenes, some not used at...
When Scott started getting rare episodes, I didn't think Out to Lunch would be included. Makes me wonder if he'll get any of the other rare Sesame Street specials (The Jean Marsh Cartoon Special, Sesame Street at Night?, Sesame Street Goes to Puerto Rico).
It's awesome that we now have...
Between this and the "where are all these classic Sesame Street episodes coming from?" thread, I wonder if we should just have an all-purpose thread on old Sesame Street episodes (for things that might not warrant their own thread). I started this thread because I wanted to talk about various...
In one segment, Grover sells newspapers, and his unfortunate customer is not Mr. Johnson, though by that point Mr. Johnson primarily only dealt with Grover as a waiter, aside from the singing telegrams sketch he would not regularly end up being Grover's customer everywhere for a few years...
I think it was said that the archives would be getting batches of episodes in reverse order, and most of what screen gaps/video clips Scott has been posting have been from the 1970s and maybe 1980s.
