I disagree a bit. His parents realized that he had to like a car that they bought, because otherwise it would turn out bad for the whole family later on. I think they had the confidence that eventually a car would turn up that he liked enough to quit thinking about the old one, and they knew...

I actually think, if I'm not mistaken, that Robin Williams was originally scheduled for TMS, but then opted out later on or something...of course don't quote me on that... EDIT: I just checked...in 1979 (around season 3ish), he was announced in a TMS fan club newsletter as a guest star, yet...

Of course puppets still exist...there's all kinds of brands of them...oh wait, I guess I should probably read the thread first... As to really answer your question, we do not really know if any of the original puppets are still existent. There still is a Red, a Wembley, and an Uncle Matt...
