Okay, so . . . my Kermit shoes came today! They were an early Christmas present. I was a little hesitant when I saw the updated picture on the order page of citysole.com, because it looked somehow . . . cheaper than the initial picture they posted. But they are AWESOME! I highly recommend...
I was finally able to get to a Disney store to pick up Pepe yesterday! Such a great little plush! But a word of warning--I know some of you may only be able to order online, but if you have the ability to go to a Disney store in person, try to do so. They had three or four Pepe plushes, and...
Must we? Really?
I did actually love it, speaking just for myself. What a sweet, straightforward rendition of a beautiful song! It really made my day! Nothing fancy, just simple, lovely, and green. :)
One of the things I like about it, actually. I teach high school, and I had students coming in singing "Young Girl" by Gary Puckett. You know where they heard that great old song? Glee! :)
I might too, but my wife would get ticked! ;)
But that Walter plush looks terrific! Actually my father-in-law's name is Walter. Might have to get him his own doll for Christmas!
Well, thank the lords of technology for Tivo. Got to watch the very funny (IMHO) muppet bits without all that wrestling. It's just not my thing. For me, the best part of the whole thing was Kermit's deadpan to the camera: "I thought our show was weird!"
I think the joke there is that they "Travel By Map," which just magically gets them there Indiana-Jones-style, but they're still in a car, which means they had to drive under the ocean, which means they had to have the windows up the whole time. Hence, gasping for fresh air upon reemergence.
All I can say is, this really looks like the Muppets project I want to see! I mean, as a fan, I want to see everything, but really . . . this looks like the real deal to me. I'm going to have to shy away from any more trailers or commercials, because I want to keep some surprises fresh. But...
Actually I have a chicken puppet that I use sometimes, and I've been rehearsing him singing "Cluck You" for weeks! So I was really pleasantly surprised!
I was just messin' with you. Doesn't mean it's not true, though. ;)
But, staying on topic, I like the idea of these random pop numbers--I mean, that's what a variety show / telethon is for! As for The Moopets, I think it all depends on context in the film. As does everything, really. Until...
I don't know OK Go very well, but that was a lot of fun. The Muppets-as-Muppeteers shot, I thought, was really well done. And I'm really liking Bill's Dr. Teeth and Rowlf!
Me too. I'm going to try to save myself for the movie as much as possible. And if there's a ton of stuff that didn't make the final cut, here's to a jam-packed dvd set! :)
