Chapter One: Someone's Waiting For You
Normally the arrival of the Minstrels in Fraggle Rock was enough to cause a stir. But it was even more surprising to the Fraggles when Cantus arrived without the other...
(meanwhile, in Room 19...)
Kim: How goes the packing, guys?
Boober: Shouldn't you be writing?
Kim: Boober, it's more important that we get out of here on-time - especially if I wind up being called in to work tomorrow.
Tosh: Would they really call you in on the second week of school...
Kim: You and me both, pal ;)
Gillis: Well, maybe if you updated when you said you would...
Kim: Shush, Maestro. I'm just having a little trouble wrapping up the first chapter.
Gillis: What about starting the second? Or the third? Etc?
Kim: ...one thing at a time, okay Gil?
-Kim
Before we all give in to paranoia...
I would just like to ask where all of you are getting your "evidence" that Sylinde's music site was shut down by "they" or some other anonymous third party. There's nothing on her base site that explains why, no posts in any of her journals about it...
Tosh: I will, Jerry! Bye!
(before Richard leaves)
Kim: Glad you could hang with us tonight, Richard. *slips something into his hand* Anytime you want to stop by our room and have a listen to that, feel free. Door's always open.
Richard: Thanks, I will, but I think you'd better hang onto it...
Tosh: They wouldn't get frozen in the fridge, they'd get frozen in the freezer.
Boober: Actually refrigerated Doozer sticks keep better than ones stored at room temperature, I've found. They last longer. Same with ordinary radishes.
Kim: The things you learn when rooming with Fraggles...heh...
Boober: Hey, we're Fraggles, not hobbits!
Kim: Down, Boober. Eh, offhand I'd say one or two. And that's not counting the intermittent snacking. Fortunately I keep the refrigerator stocked with plenty of Doozer sticks.
-Kim
Boober: Mokey's doing fine. Haven't seen her around the dorms in a while, unfortunately.
Kim: Come to think of it, we haven't heard much from Wembley, Gobo or Lou either. Weird.
Gillis: Oh, Jerry, the chorale is doing wonderfully! It's a little different having to commute from here to...
Kim: Did someone say cake? We are so there. *looks over at her roomies* Guys, why don't you leave Mr. Juhl alone, huh?
Boober: Give us a break, Kim!
Tosh: Yeah, we've missed Jerry!
Jerry: Aw, it's okay. They're not hurting anything.
Kim: Well, okay. *shrugs*
-Kim
Betty Lou: *whispering* Kim! I don't think we got a present for Richard!
Kim: *also whispering* Don't worry, Betty Lou. I've got it covered.
Betty Lou: Are you sure?
Kim: Trust me.
-Kim
Gillis: Because I had other duties that needed my attention, that's why.
Kim: Stop it, Maestro. *places the gifts on the gift table* And actually Erin, the foolishness started when the dorms were first established. It just hasn't ended.
-Kim
Kim: *coming out carrying the presents* Hey, heralde! Welcome to the dorms!
Tosh: Who's that?
Kim: That's heralde, one of the members of the RHLC. She's here for Richard and Alex and Beaker and Don's birthday part today.
Gillis: The RHLC...that's one of the little clubs you belong to, isn't...
After reading all of the wonderful fanfics already posted here, I've been itching to post my own. Unfortunately the muses and the ideas didn't want to cooperate until last night, when something finally clicked (and Richard, I think I might owe you one, buddy). Right now all I've got ready is...
Just t'ought this would be of interest to my fellow RHLC-ers - I've posted a second version of my Richard fanmix to the birthday thread in the Henson People forum. There's also a link to the fanmix I did for his birthday last year.
Check it out here, if you're interested. :)
-Kim
Happy birthday, Richard. Y'know, I've always thought it interesting that, if Richard were still with us, he and my dad would be the same age.
In honor of Richard's birthday, I've put together a fanmix. I don't know how many of you remember the fanmix I did for last year; well, this is...
Boober: Waiting until the last minute to do something for Richard's birthday, I see.
Kim: Oh, I am not, Boober. I'm hoping to have the prologue and first chapter of my story posted today.
Boober: Then why aren't you working on it?
Kim: Because my word processer program is old and crap, okay...
Oh, no. No, no no no no. It doesn't matter if the casting for the rest of the main characters is a stroke of genius - if they cast Chris Lloyd as Professor Calculus, I will boycott the movie.
On the other hand, having Wayne Robson reprise the role from the animated cartoon wouldn't be too...
Boober: *walking up to the computer desk* What are you doing, Kim?
Kim: Writing.
Boober: ...as in actual...writing writing? Story writing?
Kim: *sighs* Yes, story writing writing. A Fraggle story, if you must know.
Tosh: A story about us?
Kim: Yup.
Gillis: Think you'll actually finish...
Thank God. I was saving the receipt from Best Buy anyway, just in case, but still thank God.
Oi. It's weird because I've never had that problem before. Well, at least the DVDs still play in a majority of the players in my house. I'll just have to take notes on each episode for my...
