bear in the big blue house help needed!!

Hey fuzzyandblue, while you are here in the Great White North be sure to check Zellers, Toys R Us and Wal-Marts here. I have recently seen the Bear puppets and plush toys in all three chain's Ontario stores and it's likely the same across Canada.

    Eureka's Castle

"Under The Umbrella Tree" was on in the US? I didn't know that! The show was produced in Ottawa, Ontario for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It was created by Noreen Young, who is a very well known puppeteer and builder up here. Here's a few websites by folks who worked on the...

    Eureka's Castle

I'm jumping in to this thread late (Aren't I always?) but I loved EC! It hasn't aired in Canada for years but the show has quite a little following here. - The puppets were built by 3-Design Studio Inc, the same folks who created puppets for "Wimzie's House", "Groundling Marsh", "The Puzzle...

Has Steve Whitmire ever given an on-camera interview?

Steve Whitmire did an on camera interview for the A&E "Sesame Street" Biography special. I believe I've also seen him to interviews on other "behind the scenes" specials, but I am not sure.

Good luck trying to find KSY reasonably or renting it

    I can! I can! (I'm becoming a profesional wise-*** on this thread :D )

    Stupid foam question

Well, I'm sort-of foam ignorant in that I work with the stuff but really don't get the technical jargon (neither do the guys at the place where we buy it - and it's their industry!). Basically there are two types of foam: The foam bought and sold in sheets is polyurethane foam (we call it...

    Purchasing a Muppet-Style Puppet

Yeah, checking out credits is always a good idea. I know of a few people who did a few background puppets on one Muppet project and at the top of their resume is that they are/were a Muppeteer. I mean sure, it's technically true but the impression it leaves is misleading.

    Ninja Turtles

    >> Regarding any position JHC may have had that TMNT was too >> violent...Im not sure what is officially said...being that TMNT >> the first one is close to the original book, and not the crappy >> archie stuff or cartoon. And JHC is all about edgy, look at Dark >> Crystal. Well, I...

    Purchasing a Muppet-Style Puppet

Hi Toastcrumbs - long time no post! The list I posted was primarily made up of people who do puppets for $200 and under and that's all alot of people can afford. You make a very good point about puppet construction though. Professional puppets that cost thousands of dollars usually cost that...

    The subject of trilogies

My trilogy picks: Star Wars (Orginal) - Empire Strike Back Star Wars (Prequels) - Episode III (I'm hoping, if not then "Attack of the Clones") Back To The Future - Part 1 (but I love part two too!) The Original Muppet Movies - The Muppet Movie The 90s Muppet Movies - Muppet...

    Ninja Turtles

I think the extent of JHC's involvement was basically through the Creature Shop, providing puppeteers and the animatronics. Jim was quoted at the time of TMNT's release (right before his death) as saying he was not comfortable with the Ninja Turtles because of the amount of violence. They...

    Ninja Turtles

Actually, The Next Mutation was never supposed to be a movie and wasn't a straight-to-video release, it was the pilot for the live action TMNT series "The Next Mutation." I'll stop talking about that series right now before I start *****' swearing (oops, too late!). Actually, considering the...

    The quiet 20th Fraggle Anniversary

This year is apparently considered the actual 20th Anniversary of the show - the Fraggle production team had a reunion here in Toronto (where the show was produced) earlier in the year to celebrate. I'm not so sure their will be a big "Anniversary" push this year or next with Fraggle Rock...

    Ninja Turtles

In addition to Kevin Clash, there are tons of Muppet folk throughout the TMNT movies. A few puppeteers that come to mind are: Leif Tilden (Dinosaurs) performed Leonard's body in the 1st movie. Rob Mills (Ludo in Labyrinth, Junior Gorg on Fraggle Rock & Robbie on the last season of...

    Brats of the Lost Nebula

Well, I guess I will fire the first shot. I wanted to like "Brats" I really did. I couldn't get WB so I watched the somewhat irregular airings on other stations here in Canada and the harder I tried to like it the less I did. I think they missed with it, they missed big time. The show...

    Ninja Turtles

I love the turtles! I think it was one of the best things to come out of the 80s toy licensing phenomenon - made all the better because it was based on a truly original, awesome comic. I was never in to the cartoon - I was a little too old - but my little brother loved it! The toys were great...

I...CAN...PROVE IT!!!!!!! (MFC Uncut on Nick!)

You are right, the original airing wasn't the only uncut one. I think the special regulary ran in the early 90s in it's original form.
