Althought nothing has been announced in terms of new Muppet TV/movie projects the latest scuttlebutt is that A LOT of things are potentially in the works, but still at the discussion stage so I guess no one wants to start talking about things that might not be (yet).
Hi all! I just posted about this in "For Sale/Trade" but I am trying to find episodes of the Jim Henson Hour, specifically the Dog City epsisode and the behind-the-scenes episodes (though I'd also be interested in any of the other JHH episodes too).
I have a lot of old 80s/90s Muppet...
Like most cabaret-style acts, he didn't die....he just went to Vegas. :p
Seriously though, he's a great performer. One of these days I'm going to do a Vegas weekend. I don't gamble, so I'll just take in the shows - Copperfield, Zigfried and Roy, Ron Lucas, Cirque de Solei, etc.
I don't know how much that was a factor in CBC's decisions with the show. The decision to make Sesame all-Canadian was spurred (in part) by ongoing complaints that the show was a US import (CBC defended that for years by saying it was an excellent US import) and primarily because around 1995 the...
That's absolutely right Hays, it wasn't a matter of "deleting" Spanish characters and segments, it's just that those segments aren't nearly as culturally relevant here as they are in the U.S. Canada is actually an officially bilingual country (our national languages are english and french) and...
I found an academic paper on the net that discusses at length the whys and hows of Sesame Street in Canada:

The "Southern Colonel" footage of Jim and Frank I believe is actually from "The Muppets on Puppets" which was a PBS special in the 60s I believe. I think there is also some brief footage from the same special of Jim and Don Sahlin, although I might be confusing the A&E special with the Jim...
Hey - here's a fun Kemit Love fact - did anybody know that in addition to Snuggle and Big Bird (among other Muppets), Kermit also created the UpUp and Granny Cat puppets on the 1980s syndicated series "Romper Room & Friends"?
Although I don't know exactly why CBC cancelled Sesame Park, I'd imagine it is because the show (in it's 100% Canadian form) had run for five years and that gives them enough episodes to run repeats.
Because with the launch of Sesame Park (which was mainly done because the CBC wanted to make...
Thanks Scooter!
The show I was thinking of was actually The Waterville Gang. There's info on it at The Canadian Museum of Civilization where the puppets are kept now. Is this the same show? Or are they two different shows?
Sorry....I actually wiped out part of the message by accident when I was editing it.
I'm helping put together a comprehensive site devoted to Canadian Puppetry (I'm looking after the Ontario section) and we have a section on TV shows and I'm trying to get any information that is available on...
Hi all!
I'm in need of more information on ANY of the following shows:
- Snelgrove Snail
- Fabulicious Day (aired on Family Channel Canada in the 90s??)
- Kingdom Adventure (CTV series, still aired once in a while)
- Surf Shack (YTV show)
- Circle Square
- Lois Walker's shows (Take...
I'd like to attend (I've never made it to a PofA festival before) but since it's in OK this year I probably won't be able to afford going down in the summer. :(
