Yeah, yeah....I hear `ya! :p Actually, my computer got hit with a VERY nasty virus and I lost most of the data on my hardrive. Most of my stuff was backed up, but the Tumbles website/article wasn't. Once I've finished rebuilding my hardrive I'm going back to work on the cute little bear......
You are probably running Explorer 6.0 for XP. I don't think the problem is platform specific - I've encountered it using netscape too. I have a feeling me might just be logging in at times when the server is in high demand. Just a guess.
IGN Filmforce followed up this story with another yesterday, basically saying there is no story (yet). Fans packed the ComicCon Farscape panel this weekend but everyone in attendence said they have heard nothing about a mini-series either way. Sci-Fi denies they are involved in any such project...
Hi all,
For anyone interested in web comics / digital animation, there is a great new book about web comics and digital cartooning available called "Toon Art: The Graphic Art of Digital Cartooning" By Steven Withrow. It is published by Watson-Guptill Publications
The promotional...
I finally sat down to watch an episode of this and I think I'm down with the general consensus - great idea, lousy execution.
Maybe that's not fair. "Animal Jam" is a good show, but it is in need of a good dose of K.I.S.S. - keep it simple, stupid. I 100% agree with Cindy's review - great...
Hi Pino!
What a great looking fan site! I especially like the background and the trippy little flower pointer (lol, can I "borrow" that for a Web site sometime?). Information on most of the International versions of Sesame is hard to find (except for what's on the handy dandy Sesame World) so...
Thanks for posting that link - I've seen these types of puppets at art/craft shows before and it was interesting to see how they are made (I don't really know a thing about needlework, knitting or weaving - it's all very mystical/magical to me).
It's true you can adapt a lot of techniques...
Forgive my ignorance, but how is this Tour Animal different from the Animal figure packaged with the Band playset? That figure looks identical to the photo of Tour Animal I saw.
Yeah, doing puppet appearances on local TV shows is usually difficult. The crews have an assembly line mentality usually and hate it if they have to set up a lot of extra monitors, cables, etc. and the puppeteer(s) end up frustrated if they don't have what they need to give a good performance...
I don't know if there are any Dilbert fans here, but Scott Adams has a great little article about himself and how he became a cartoonist on the Dilbert website. You can read it here.
What I like about "Get Fuzzy" is that the humour is fairly fresh, character-oriented and it's new enough that it isn't stale yet. Foz is right though, the style of the strip almost would lend itself better to a sitcom than a comic. I think you have to read it for awhile to get it. I first...
lol, I actually hate that method, but it's really a matter of personal preference.
There's a puppet I am using for my project "Bear Town" that was built (by someone else) with exactly this type of mechanism and it's very annoying because you really have to stop working the mouth in order to...
One word of warning Puppetplanet - if you are running Version 4, remember that Adobe is on to version 7 so many tutorials might mention features that didn't exist in Photoshop 4.
Not that it matters to you since you already own Photoshop, but if anyone else is looking for/needing this kind of...
Get Fuzzy is the best thing in comics today. Most cartoonists name it as their favorite strip. I also agree with the comments about Garfield, the strip has been awful since Jim Davis "cashed out." I think it's a shame Calvin and Hobbes isn't around anymore, but more strips should follow Bill's...
Many performers prefer blink/eye movement to be controlled by a cable control that is not actually inside the puppet's head but rather built in to an arm rod or hangs below the puppet's body. I've often found mechanisms inside a puppet's head to be cumbersome unless they are really well made...
