    Large puppet mouth

Cardboard will certainly work, but even better (and stronger) is corrogated plastic, often sold under the brand name Corroplast. That is the material real estate signs are often made out of. Large sheets (2'0 x 4'0 and 4'0 x 8'0) can usually be purchased in better art supply stores. A 4'0 x 8'0...

    Question about making puppets

I would first suggest not paying someone to make the puppet for you, because that is breaking the law. Piggy is a trademarked character and if someone is making a copy for you, you are running the risk of getting them in to legal trouble. If you'd like to start making puppets yourself there...

    2005 - A Good Year for Film

2005 is shaping up to be a great year for genre films - in addition to Star Wars: Episode III, we've got Indianna Jones IV and the Christian Bale Batman movie coming out. I think Peter Jackson's King Kong is coming out that summer too. Anyone know of any other 200-scheduled films?

    Puppetry Resumes - Correct Format

No. This can be a little confusing, but generally "lead" puppeteer refers to being the lead puppeteer for a particular character (who has multiple puppeteers). If you did "atmospheric" puppetry you would usually be listed as a background puppeteer. To use the term "lead" would be misleading.

    Live hand puppet wanted

Try emailing Marlene Reimer at Puppets For Goodness Sake at puppets4gfs@aol.com or call her toll-free at 1-888-300-1400. If she doesn't have any in stock, she can probably make one quickly. Her work is very good and affordable.

    Puppetry Resumes - Correct Format

I don't think there is one official format, but generally it should conform to a format similar to an actor's resume. Be sure to specify what you did exactly for each puppeteering role. For example if you were the head on a live arm puppet you might want to credit yourself as the lead puppeteer...

Israeli-Palestinian Battles Intrude on 'Sesame Street'

 I was thinking the same thing, but I think we may have a overly simplified understanding of the situation as North Americans. By history's standards, here in North America we have been raised (more or less) in a paradise - relative peace, stability and prosperity for a few hundred...

Ernie? The Count? What does it all mean....?

Yeah, but that interpretation implies that Ernie Eves is a nice guy. He's not. And even if he was, there's no way The Toronto Star (which hates Eves and his Tories) would try to imply he was a good guy. And so the mystery continues....maybe we should write a letter to the editor?

Ernie? The Count? What does it all mean....?

"Tory" is a nickname here for the Progressive Conservative Party, which I believe has historical links to the Tories in England if you go back far enough. Sorry, should have mentioned that. I was trying to sort out the Ernie/Count/Tory political message. Doesn't compute!

Ernie? The Count? What does it all mean....?

Saw this in the Toronto Star...I've spent the past hour puzzling over exactly what it means. It's a political cartoon about the current Ontario election campaign. The Count has the words "Tory Campaign" written across him. Ernie is supposed to represent Ernie Eves, Ontario's Premier (the...

First time puppet builder tips/help please!

Foam can usually be purchased through a good fabric or upholstry supply store. Sometimes you can buy it in sheets through a camping store or outdoor outfitter, but foam is usually very expensive in those types of stores. Larger cities often have warehouse outlets that specialize in foam. Try...
