How do you sew a fur covering?

Yup, the problem seems to be that the old leather belts eventually stretch but it has nothing to do with the machine - I don't think ours has had any problems for 40 years!

How do you sew a fur covering?

Yeah, which is good once you get the hang of it (took me awhile). The old Singers are great and almost indestructable. You have to replace the belt every 10 or so years though it seems. They don't make `em like they used to... :smirk:

    Faz Fazakas

My understanding is that - unless something happened recently - he is still alive. He left the Muppet Shop sometime in the late 80s/early 90s. A puppeteer I know toured the shop just after he had left and kept asking them about Faz but everyone was very uncomfortable answering questions and...

How do you sew a fur covering?

Leliebel - re: Making Fur If you wanted to make fur, I know people who have done it using weaving techniques. Not sure exactly how they did it. It was time consuming, but looked very, very cool. A good way to make shag fur is to dye mohair. There's a supplier in Alberta who sells to a lot...

    Home-made Muppet Theatre playset

That's nice! When is the backstage set coming out? I can never keep track of these things.

How do you sew a fur covering?

I would caution against sewing shag furs on a machine if you're not familiar with sewing machines. It's true that most good machines (with the correct needle) can do it, but the problem is there are a lot of low-priced lousy machines on the market. I tend to hand sew everything (using a whip...

    Puppets at Homestarrunner.com

I've seen this before, I think it's been up for awhile. There is a rumour they might start selling puppets of Homestar. As for who built the puppets...sounds like a good topic for a Strong Bad Email! :zany:

    A puppet in 48 Hours

So I'm kinda behind with my puppet building and I got an unexpected break fro my freelance work so I decided to challenge myself to build one of the puppets in 48 hours. Not sure if I can do it, but I'm going to try. I'll be posting updates and pics in my blog every few hours as work...

    Jim Henson's Funeral

Just to clarify, my earlier post referred to the memorial, not the funeral which is what I assumed you were referring to as well. Check out the stuff on Scott's site. It's really good.

    Jim Henson's Funeral
