Thanks for posting this! I didn't know that they had that available already. I'm going to check it out.

    The Foam Book

I ran a puppet building contest on my site last year; Ryan won and got sent some stuff but some of it was returned to me and the rest, well, I imagine some U.S. Postal employee is having fun building puppets right now. I thought it would be fun to do the contest again this year, but I wanted...

    Building Apple puppet

Usually it's good to try upholstry suppliers, check your local yellow pages under "upholstry" or "foam". You could try searching Froogle for "foam block" too.

What's that supposed to mean?!?! :p

Polar fleece is not antron fleece and it's not really similar, although many people make puppets out of it and it works just fine. Antron fleece - which a lot of people make a big deal about - really only needs to be used to make puppets for television so that seams are concealed. It's expensive...

    Building Apple puppet

Another method for doing this would be to use the "wedge method"; by experimenting with the size and shape of the wedges you could make an apple shape. You would have to use 1" thick foam to prevent it from sagging though. Personally I would carve it from a block of foam and coat it in latex...

    Gonzo puppet

There are a number of sites with free patterns. They're a good place to start but unfortunately most of them are not very good; if someone spends weeks/months/years perfecting patterns they usually like to be compensated for their work (reasonable to me it seems). There were a few good posts...

Another option is Crayola's model magic, which I've started using. I've dubbed it "wonder clay." It's cool stuff.

    Tax deductible sock puppets

Hi Lynn! :) Just as a friendly heads-up, I believe that the use of excessive caps is generally frowned upon `round these parts. That said, everyone should spread the word and help get this movie made!

Did this go through? My ISP is doing some kind of upgrade this week and my email has been a little spotty.

:o I'm so sorry. I got busy and totally forgot about this. I'm sending it now.

    ALF's Hit Talk Show Debuts

This is the mistaken impression that is often used to justify piracy. DVDs are and cars aren't any different really except that it's a lot easier to copy a DVD than it is a Ferrari (and if someone could clone them, you know we'd be debating the legality of that too!). The problem of course is...

Who built the puppets for Greg the Bunny?

I don't have a credit list, but I think it was mostly West Coast freelancers who did Greg the Bunny. Some of the same people worked on the now-famous "Puppet" episode of Angel.

    1) By workshops I assume that you mean things like Muppetfest or last year's event at the Museum of TV & Radio. They're not regularly scheduled, but pop up occassionally (Carroll Spinney was at the PofA Festival in CT two weeks ago for example). The best thing to do is keep your ear to the...

    Official MirrorMask Site Online

Word is that Dave McKean is in the process of "cleaning up" the Mirrormask preview that was shown at Comic-Con so it can be posted online soon. Until then Comic Book Resources has a recent interview with Mirrormask's executive producer Michael Polis.

Actually, according to Neil's blog that's his next project with Henson. There has already been one version of it produced - made-for-TV I believe - in the UK. I think it's available on DVD. I'm not so sure...the JHC specifically asked them to come up with something in the same vein as...

This doesn't surprise me, oh and Ravagefrackle usually knows of what he speaks, since he worked for the company and all.
