    Pattern copyrights

I would just email them at info@senittpuppets.com or call 1-888-257-3116. I think they tend to sell directly to stores rather than the public, but I am sure they could either sell you a chicken or tell you where to order it from. I go to their booth every Fall at the One of a Kind Show in...

    I'm a beginning puppeteer...

John Kennedy has written an interesting article that briefly explains one method for converting a drawing in to a 3-D puppet. There are a few photos too. http://www.puppetkit.com/c/81

    Pattern copyrights

I know many people do puppets that are suspiciously similar to the patterns that David P. produces; personally I like the approach of John Kennedy - he encourages people to make the puppets in his book and sell them at fairs and craft shows.

    A muppet short... ???

If by "Muppet" you mean a hand/rod or "live hands" puppet there are several people here who build puppets in a whole range of styles and prices. Browse through the threads to see people's work (I seem to get in trouble when I recommend someone!).

    I'm a beginning puppeteer...

Seriously, whoever thought that math would come in handy if you weren't an accountant! Another think that I've heard some people do to work out 3D designs is they design their puppet in a basic 3D modelling program using primative shapes so they know what shapes they need to make to create...

    The Foam Book

Just a thought - why not order the NTSC videos and get someone in the UK to convert them for you? Here in Canada there are places that do NTSC/PAL/SECAM conversions all over and many of them are very reasonable. There has to be an affordable way for you to get them converted locally.

    John Kennedy: Puppet Mania Review

I think it's fair to say that's somewhat similar to (and probably partially inspired by) The Muppets Make Puppets. Both books are good "puppet making craft" books, but I think Puppet Mania's projects are a little more imaginative. I never really got any new ideas reading The Muppets Make Puppets...

    Rod Puppet Patterns

Nick Barone has some diagrams on his site that might help; scroll down to the links at the bottom of the page. These aren't exactly what you're looking for but they might be useful. The easiest way to make a Pepe-like puppet is to go to your local Wal-Mart or any decent fishing supply store...

    Pattern copyrights

I would think that just copying someone's pattern for commercial purposes is probably very illegal and even if it isn't it's extremely unethical. Like Ravagefrackle said, it's stealing. While you can study and build upon someone else's work, you have to be able to demonstrate is that you're...

    I'm a beginning puppeteer...

Welcome to the forum! I've written an article that might help - The Tumbles P. Bear Project which explains my personal approach to puppet building. I haven't gotten around to finishing the last few parts of the article yet, but it might help get you started. Re: your muzzle/mouth problem...

    New Puppet Mania Book

There's actually "Banana Buddies" kits you can order from John Kennedy: http://www.puppetkit.com/c/59 Puppet Mania is a great book. I highly recommend it. If you order it directly from John's web site you can get an autographed copy.

    Foam blocks?

That's right, after I read your post I checked a photo I have from the shoot of Pepes being touched up and there were only two. I should know better than rely on my defective memory. :p

    The infamous Henson stitch...

Yes but it's not really a proprietary stitch...Don Sahlin or whomever first "discovered it" for the Muppets really just stumbled on to a variation of a stitch that has been around in needlework forever. The reason you won't see seams in a puppet is because whoever it was sewn by was very...

    My puppet creations

Have you read this? Using that method for hands you can make them fatter just be changing the thickness of the foam you use.

    Foam blocks?

It's pretty common in film, TV and even theatre to have several versions of the same puppet, each built for specific effects or sometimes because of costuming requirements. Usually you have one or more "hero" puppets that are used most of the time and then others built so they can perform...

Looking for a Larry Boy (Veggie Tales) costume

There's an old thread about this somewhere in the forum. Search for "Larry Boy" and it should come up. I think MuppetQuilter has made one of these.

The 2nd Annual BT Puppet Building Contest

Hmmm...that's odd. I just tested contest@bear-town.com and it seems to be working properly. Can you try resending? If it fails again message me privately and I'll figure something out.

    My puppet creations

Are they in a Yahoo Photo Album? If they are maybe post the URL of the photo album instead of linking to the individual photos.

    Making A "Slit" Mouth

Just as a general rule you should make the puppet so that the mouth is naturally open, not closed. In my experience mouths work a lot better that way, especially narrower ones.

    Monsters are fun

You could try using a compressor for the flock after spraying the head with Super77. I've never tried that so I'm not sure if it would work or not. I believe there are small flocking wands available for around $200; a lot of money but much cheaper than $500. Ravagefrackle probably knows more...
