Hi everyone,
I just put this together at the request of a friend so I thought I would share it here as well, it's a foam wedge pattern in .pdf format:

Eight identical wedges cut from sheets of should make a perfect or...
Actually, I have had a lot of problems viewing those videos too. Not always, but often. Eventually it usually works, but I have difficulty with both Explorer and Firefox on Windows XP laptop. I've tried on a Windows desktop too and the same problems seem to happen. I find that Quicktime...
The advantage of the method you see in the Puppet 101 tutorial is that you get all the flexibility of a piece of foam but the gasket rubber pieces provide stability.
Must be different because the thinner what I use is the more it tends to coil. I don't really know the English name of what I've been using lately off hand but I will try to snap a picture tonight and post it.
I think live is better because you can improv, but when I used to do live shows the voice tracks were prerecorded. I'm not particularly skilled at voices and I think part of the reason is that I spent the first four years of my career barely doing them. Doing live voices is harder, but I think...

Oops, sorry about your name - that was probably a spell check change I didn't catch. The link to the site seems to be correct and working fine now...I just switched to the new Blogger Beta and it's been doing weird things so maybe that was the problem?
There's a new site called Puppetry Lab for anybody who hasn't seen it already (I mention it on my blog a week or two ago and I saw it on Puppet Buzz recently). Lots of good manipulation tutorials, including some with video. They are starting to go a little beyond the basic eye focus/lip sync...
I got this via email and thought some people in the NYC area might be interested:
THE PUPPETRY ARTS THEATRE of New York is seeking Puppet Builders for its
new musical IN A ROUND ABOUT WAY. This fully orchestrated show involves body and hand puppets.
We are seeking some one familiar with...
MST3k is best! When I first discovered it in the mid-90s I used to watch episodes with a couple of other puppeteers and we'd laugh so hard we would cry.
If fraying is a problem you can try getting some Fray Check (it comes in a small bottle) from a fabric store and apply that. It dries perfectly transparent and is not nearly as messy as using glue.
