    rod puppet mech

A cheap and easy way to make a Pepe-like rod puppet is to buy a fish hook remover and use that as the mechanism. Wal-Mart often sells them.

"Welcome To Pooh Corner" & "Dumbo's Flying Circus"

Ironically, elsewhere Wikipedia says this: I guess someone needs to do some editing on Wikipedia. ;) Seriously though, I am 99.9% sure the Ken Forsse article is correct. I have read that he did Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus multiple places and there is not a single mention of either series in...

"Welcome To Pooh Corner" & "Dumbo's Flying Circus"

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the JHC had nothing to do with the show. The puppets/animatronics were done by Ken Forsse who also invented Teddy Ruxpin.

Take A Peek Inside My Workshop

That's a nice little spray/glue box you've got set-up there. I've always wanted to build something like that. How do you work inside it? Is there Plexiglas on the front, or is that where the shower curtain is supposed to go?

Reporter Writing About Adult Toy (Muppet Toy?) Collectors

I don't know anymore about this than what I included in my original post, but I think it's safe to assume that it will be a fair and balanced article. The CSM is well-respected paper that's been published for over 100 years focused on quality journalism. They've won six or seven Pulitzer Prizes...

Reporter Writing About Adult Toy (Muppet Toy?) Collectors

The Christian Science Monitor is looking to interview adults in Europe or North America who collect toys for an upcoming article and I thought that someone here who collects Muppet figures or merchandise might be interested in being interviewed. Here is what she is writing about: "While toy...

    Puppet Heap is Hiring

Perhaps you could share some of your puppet building work in this thread Muppetinsider? Most of us aren't familiar with your work and given your strong opinions (and the way you trash a well-regarded company like Puppet Heap) your personal skills must be something to behold...

How about Puppeteer / Designer / Podcaster? That covers most of what you do.

Job title? Or, a puppeteer by any other name...

If someone builds puppets but doesn't perform them at all they are not a puppeteer, they are a Puppet Builder or Puppet Designer. That's the job title(s) really and both sound better than "Puppet Maker". You could call yourself Creative Director possibly? CEO? Supreme Being?

    HELP! Filming and sound question

Sabrina, if you need a versatile solution and wireless mics and a mixer aren't feasible I would strongly recommend the Rode VideoMic Shotgun Mic. It's a portable, rugged condenser microphone that records studio quality audio in stereo. It retails for about $120 (you can usually find a better...

    Rant in E Minor.

I gotta say that I'm with Jinx on this one. I understand your frustrations, but all I'm reading all the reasons why things aren't working. I believe the government should support the arts, but at the end of the day it's show business. You only succeed if you produce work that audiences want to...
