Yes, but here's the legal rub: SW/MHC/JHC reserve the right to care whenever they feel like it. There's no statute of limitations on copyright infringement. Just because the particular person responsible for activating those intellectual property rights hasn't taken action doesn't negate the...
You know what? I am sorry I ever mentioned it. Didn't realize that I was stepping into the wrong room when I opened my trap.
Thanks for opening my eyes.

For temporary stands I usually just glue a sturdy cardboard tube (you can get tons of cardboard tube from your local carpet store... varying width and thickness) to a foam-core or gator-board base.
Normally I measure out the length of the puppet and make the stand just an inch or so shorter...
Since we're talking about mouth fabrics, I just thought i'd drop in here.
I use Ultrasuede (yes its a brand name) for my mouth interiors. Its a fairly tough fabric, takes dye to an extent, and glues with contact adhesive well. It also functions well as the hinge in a hard-palett mouth...
Wow. That totally blows me away.
So, they must have some method of "reviving" mal-formed muppets?
I know they try to make them as sturdy as possible, but surely they don't just toss them in a dryer on low to "reset" the plastic memory of the fur and foam?

Weather?
Its Minneapolis.
Its December, 29th.
Its almost 40 degrees out. We're almost devoid of snow.
There's something wrong with this picture.
But don't be alarmed... this is NOT a sign of Global Warming.
And if it is, we didn't cause it.
At least that's what the...
Hate to dis-agree with Jim on that point, but I do.
There's a subtlety in the look that really helps define a character. I think may puppeteers would agree (and has been stated in many MANY books on the subject)... the look of a puppet really sets the tone for their personality.
In my...
Rankin & Bass are a staple of 1970's television. They not only created so many of those puppet-animated holiday shows, but several straight-up traditional animated pieces as well including The Hobbit, Return Of The King, The Last Unicorn, and The Year Without a Santa Claus.
Grew up on that...
The thought just hit me, the Muppets need to be stored when they're not in use. How do they do it?
I know from personal experience that stuffing a puppet into a drawer or a box or a bag usually causes the foam head or body pod to become distorted over time.
So how do they handle it at...
The sad thing is the disturbing trend of the Henson licensing people to want to move away from that 1st/2nd season Muppet Show Fozzie design. Less bell shaped in the head and more pear shaped. I really like the original look. I think it has alot more character than the new style.
I had a...
Well, one can always take a lesson from Jim Henson.
Start small. Local TV.
Do whatever it takes to bring in the dough... industrial videos, commercials, etc.
Establish a reputation. Work up in the television ranks.
Eventually you will have a functional company that can support you...
Devon,
Seems your signature is correct...one man CAN make a difference. Especially if he has $4000.00 to spend on an unlicensed Darth Vader costume.
The power of cash still doesn't make it legal or right.
But I'm happy to tell you that I will be dropping the subject. The good folks at...
UTMOST love for Gonzo.
Heaping, steaming, squishy, peuce-colored, cornucopian love for Gonzo.:concern:
Lets hope they do them all. Under license.
