French Muppet Show possibly in the works

From what i understand, the British were VERY posessive about the Muppet Show. Isn't this kind-of insulting to the crown? I mean, a FRENCH Muppet Show? And how do you make Kermit, (frog jokes aside) you know, all "spikey and French"? to quote Eddie Izzard. -Gordon

New Muppet stuff coming to Disney MGM in 2006

When my wife and i went just before Christmas, i noticed the Muppet Fountain had been partially dismantled. Maybe they're just cleaning the sculptures, or maybe they're prepping to get rid of it in favor of a shop space? That little corner over there is pretty desolate. And we were completely...

I thought I saw my dad today

I'm too reserved a Minnesotan to hug someone I don't know, but I can say this, What you've experienced is very common and you should not be distressed by it. In fact, you should be happy it is happening. It is quite normal. My father passed away last Summer after a very long decline into...

    Do others break your puppets?

Its a fear-based monkey-brain reaction. Their reality is challenged by this puppet/costume/whatever and so they attempt to assert dominance. Its a very complex and deep-seated reflex thing. I believe that the violent response is diferent than that of the finger-stuffing response. Its kind-of...

    Rod arm techniques

Haven't had alot of extended performance time since I ususally work on video. But I have held them in many ways depending on what the movement for the arms needed to be. Usually parallel so they don't conflict with each other when I want to get a wide spread on the arms. Just my two pennies...

    Experimental Puppet Hand

That IS a great piece of video. It really shows the graceful and complex movements you can acheive with puppet mechanics. So when you make a version to install in a puppet will you use the same materials? Or will you upgrade to sturdier stuff? I'm very interested to see it installed in a full...

    King Kong The Puppet

My boss, Mike was at the premiere for King Kong in NY. He actually got to sit in the theatre with all the stars...as well as P.J. and George Lucas and such. Then he got to fondle the armature of the original King Kong stop-motion puppet. It currently belongs to Bob Burns...a legend in...

    Do others break your puppets?

That's a very good reply. I hadn't actually put it into that context before, but you're right. So, then the question arises: How do you break the news to them without sounding like a total elite-ist jerk? I mean, what's your response? On a related note, how do you deal with the folks...

    Do others break your puppets?

Hey, heres a question for all you puppet builders: When you finish a puppet, and you let someone "play" with it, do you get all uptight? I do. But I have good reason to. Without fail, whenever I hand over a puppet to someone (and the puppet has a hard pallet) they immediately try to...

How do I get a job as a Muppeteer?

I hope not too. Reading posts on the computer is taxing enough on these old eyes! ;) But I can't imagine trying to read a whole novel from a lit CRT or LC screen! :concern: -Gordon

    ATTN: Faux Muppets on eBay

Actually, I boycott them by not buying them as well. The difference is that I'm attempting to alert other people to the fact that it is illegal. You're absolutely right. I built my own Ghostbuster Proton Pack. I don't sell them. That's legal. Its when you start trying to make money from the...

    ATTN: Faux Muppets on eBay

You know I respect you, but I can't dis-agree with you more. The reason WHY we care about whether its legal or not is well presented in the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It doesn't matter whether or not someone else would respect OUR individual rights...
