Okay everybody!
This is the place. Here is YOUR opportunity to post YOUR great ideas about what should be done with the Muppets franchise. First, a few basic guidelines:
1) Concentrate on the POSITIVE. This is NOT a "Bash Disney/MHC" thread. Offer up things that could be helpful...
Okay, so we need to start TWO threads anew.
One will be the "If I ran the Muppets" thread and the "sign up to pledge a handwritten letter" thread.
I'll take the first one. Who'll take the second?

This fellow obviously is in apoplectic fits after Disney and PIXAR decided to merge. Disney isn't going to be developing any more properties than they have in the recent past. Their accquisition of the Muppets didn't make one whit of difference to their business plan for the regular Disney...
That is precisely the REAL type of letter writing campaign that actually WORKS. Real , handwritten letters from individuals en masse.
Petitions are generally dismissed. And if they aren't, they don't carry nearly as much "weight" as an overflowing mailbox full of personal letters.

It's a mis-use of a quote from the first Batman movie with Jack Nicholson as the Joker.
He says, "Never rub another man's rhubarb!" Which is undoubtedly some obscure statement meaning "Don't step in my territory".
BUT I was using it to mean, "Awww...now you're just stroking my ego!" ;)...
When Jim was alive and negotiating the ownership deal with Disney, a major component of that deal was that Jim would maintain creative control of the Muppets. In fact, his absence from that deal (due to his unfortunate passing) is what kiboshed the contract in the first round.
I'm in no...
And he said so in several interviews. No disagreement there.
You may have misunderstood my intent. There is no guarantee that anyone will fall in love with how the characters are portrayed "post originator" puppeteer. I'm not saying to write them off, I'm just saying, some folks will cotton...
Yeah. Bets thoughts to his family and friends. His was one of the defining voices of an era. Man, when I think about all the work he did for S&M Krofft, it staggers the mind!
For anyone who might be floundering for a handle, he provided the voice for Enik the "evolved" Sleestak in the...
I discussed Muppet dreams with Jerry Juhl on one occasion. He admitted to me that he, too, would have dreams about Jim and the Muppets from time to time. The impetus behind the conversation was a dream I had about being at an audition with Jim (this never really happened) and, like those...
I don't know, nor can I guarantee thet they will or won't use any suggestion from anywhere. Even here.
But in the mean-time, just like every other thread here on the forum, it could be considered "just for fun" if that's what gets the ball rolling.
We know the result of NOT doing it. That...
A little disconcerting about the hands... considering that both Bunsen and Beaker had glove hands. Beaker looks somewhat anemic with little skinny arms like Kermit.

Exactly what I meant by Imperical evidence. I think that everybody here can post a similar story with utmost honesty.
And it is a unique TREAT to be able to introduce some young person to The Muppets (as well as Monty Python, Playmobil, LEGO, the films of Hayao Miyazaki and Dr.Who). Its...
Awwww...now you're just rubbin' my rhubarb! :D
But seriously... I'm a yakker. And like an infinitley huge group of monkeys banging on typewriters... eventually the odds are that I'll type SOMTHING intelligent!
Thanks for the compliment!! You made my day! :)

That is why we're not submitting them. Just posting them here. No idea is immutable. The nub of an idea can be embroidered in many ways. The point here is to suggest ideas "under the radar".
Let's be perfectly honest... if the Disney company thinks that something is a good idea, they aren't...
Have we discussed the idea that The Muppets (in a global sense) are more like the crew of Saturday Night Live than like The Looney Toons?
For those of us who remember, it was pretty sad when all the old guard moved off of SNL. Chevy Chase, Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, etc. And they were...
I'm assuming "stubborn" is what you meant.
And YES... if stubborn means wanting Muppet entertainment that makes us laugh and is of high quality. If stubborn means we want the creators of such entertainment to be true to the characters we fell in love with and not to devalue their entire...
