Putting feathers in fur?
I've seen many puppets with feathers sticking out of their fur. Some of the ebay puppets we've seen have this.
How do you put them thin slices of feather into fur?
I'm curious as to what other "secrets" were mentioned in "Of Muppets and Men".
I own it and I'd just like to know of any other stuff people have seen in the photos in this book.
Also, where do you see barge cement in this book?
I'm not sure if thats what they're called, but I'm looking for a basic pattern for a "Practical Hands" puppet body. (Thats what The Foam Book calls it, anyway.)
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about. A "practical hands" puppet is one which uses the puppeteers own hand...
Whats going on with BSL? Most of the video links are broken and when I emailed Scarecroe, no response! I'm dying to see some of the stuff described there, but all the links are broken!
Any idea as to why? Does Scarecroe post on the boards?
If you watched the Muppets Tonight then you know about Nigel the green control room manager with the floppy nose.
Anyone know what kind of material makes his nose flop like that? I've seen many puppets with ears and noses that flop around with movement. How is this achieved?
When I say powered movement, I mean it in the same way one would say a car has power steering. I mean, a puppet with an extra huge jaw could be manipulated with one hand if it had the proper mechanics.
Has anyone ever seen a puppet that had powered movement in it?
I know puppet props are usually made. Is there any place where props for puppets can be purchased? I need an electric guitar and I don't exactly have the skills to build my own Janice sized Les paul! :flirt:
Whats the best way to make a removable puppet arm? I've ben researching my brains out to find something in the nature of a snap on snap off kind of thing!
I've heard some rock versions of muppet songs such as:
Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies - Rainbow Connection
Less Than Jake - Rainbow Connection
Jamestowne - Rainbow Connection
Allister - Fraggle Rock
Has anyone heard other rock versions of muppet songs?
:sing:
I've seen photos of Piggy and other muppets and noticed that they have very shapely heads that look almost as good without fleece!
I used to think the builders would actually sculpt piggy's head from a block of foam, but now I realize that thats just too tedious for anyone and takes too long...
Anyone ever see any episodes or clips of foreign projects by the sesame workshop (such as Takalani Sesame, Plaza Sesamo, Sesam Straat, Sippurei Sesame or Sesamstrasse) available online?
I've heard of and read about Don Sahlin and Jim Henson's "Magic Triangle" regarding the placement of eyes and nose on a puppet's head.
Does anyone know anything about the technical aspect of "The Magic Triangle" as far as measurments or anything else is concerned? Did they ever document this...
Anyone have the Jim Henson Hour special "The Secret of the Muppets" available for download?
I had it up until 3 weeks ago when my mom used the tape to record Barney reruns for my little brother! HEELP!
I know everyones probably asked this question a hundred times but, what do the muppet builders and other pro puppet builders use for arm rods? Every time I see one its the black one with the handle, just like in this picture of ol' Dave Goelz.

What are...
Any one know what Jim Henson used on his old muppets before Antron Fleece became widely used?
What did he put on Wilkins and Wontins? What did he put on Mushmellon?
