I saw a scan of that elsewhere. It referred to Fozzie's mom as Agatha instead of Emily (her name was only briefly mentioned in the special). I think that was a 1988 issue, so it was a year after the special was first broadcast. And it's especially odd that in the letter from Fozzie's mom (and...
Anyone notice they mentioned the song was written for A Christmas Together? It was actually written for Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas (though I'm not sure if Disney would want the Muppets to acknowledge that).
I feel Matt Vogel's Robin sounds more like a younger Bunsen (maybe he should take...
It seems many Muppet productions since the 1980s have had finales like that. The 30th anniversary special, MFS, Muppets at Walt Disney World, Letters to Santa, The Muppets... It's a shame Muppet Classic Theater didn't have a closing montage like that.
Actually I think Richard was just busy with The Ghost of Faffner Hall at the time. That show was made in england while JHH was made in canada. And I think I read some gossip at tough pigs that Richard Hunt didn't really like working in canada (which could explain why he didn't perform any...
I really like The Jim Henson Hour, espeically the MuppeTelevision segments, but also Dog City, Lighthouse Island, The Secrets of the Muppets, Miss Piggy's Hollywood (I like this special better than that other Miss Piggy special, The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show), and The StoryTeller (most of my...
With Christmas coming up, perhaps I should mention that when I was younger I mishead certain song lyrics from A Muppet Family Christmas, most notably Deck the Halls. I thought that both Grover and the black cows lines were something to the effect of "time to play a game of barrell". And I...
I wasn't expecting the Dinosaurs episode to be an option, since that's a TV episode and not really a special. I was expecting to vote on The Chrismtas Toy until I saw that option.
It was both an album and a special. They both came out the same year but apparently the album came first, with the special being a tie-in to the album (I wonder if that's the case for Rocky Mountain Holiday).
Oh, and John Denver didn't host The Muppet Show, Kermit did. Denver was just a guest...
1. Refrigerator Day
2. The Christmas Toy
3. Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas
4. The Bells of Fraggle Rock
5. Mr. Willoby's Christmas Tree
Haven't seen any of the other specials.
I think he meant that he wanted them unedited and on blu-ray, which those specials are not. Though blu-ray wouldn't add much (blu-ray can hold more features, but what else is there to include on an Emmet Otter release, besides bloopers that didn't make the existing DVD or, obviously, the Kermit...
As for Claire's mom warming up to them, it seems we don't really see much of Claire or her mom. We see Claire writing her letter, we see them interracting with the Muppets in an early scene, and then they reappear when the Muppets visit at the end. Seems like she suddenly warmed up to them when...
Every Muppet special that hasn't been released on DVD in the US, as well as every episode of every Muppet series, every Muppet Meeting Film, every music video, and every viral video, commercial, made-for-video production (especially the compilation videos released by Playhouse), and video...
Back in the VHS days, pretty much all videos from Jim Henson Video and other subsidaries of Buena Vista Home Video (including Walt Disney Home Video and, I think, the Bullwinkle and Chipmunks videos) had a little survey card to fill out. Though I never filled any out or mailed them, I noticed at...
My ranking:
1. Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
2. Elmo Saves Christmas
3. Elmo's Christmas Countdown
4. Elmo's World: Happy Holidays
I have not seen A Special Sesame Street Christmas or A Sesame Street Christmas Carol. I've read the Tough Pigs article on SSSC, and I've seen some clips from both...
I can't believe I didn't provide any "behind-the-scenes" info here yet. Anyway, I first got this idea in late october, actually shortly after reading The Muppets: The Movie Junior Novel. I always intended on titling this "Walter's First Muppet Christmas", but at the time I came up with this, I...
Yeah, that's one of my main issues with Rocky Mountain Holiday (aside from a somewhat small cast... it should have at least had the whole Electric Mayhem on the trip... In fact why was Dr. Teeth missing from all of the early 1980s Muppet specials?). The scenes with John just singing over nature...
