Pepe is really the key to a new generation. I dont know how many of you are college aged but his lines are what people remember in my age group. Those lines where you just laugh or tease someone with. Especially out west. Smack you like a bad, bad donkey is a mainstay here in Vegas =)

I do think however there needs to be a balance with the old. The company was started with a Frog and he has been shoved to a supporting role too much. Ideally you need to bridge the generation gap of fans. The older ones need to see something familar while the younger crowd needs their generations favorites.

Personally i'd like to see a movie that tests everyone, not just one character. A plot that involves the different characters. Maybe something like what we saw in a very muppet christmas. I mean they are already in hollywood, that struggle is gone. But they need to be challanged and overcome that challange and that's whats been missing for a long time. Even in muppets from space, things just always went too smothly. You didnt say "wow that character is really having a hard time". MFS had it, but it was too early in the picture and the obstacles after, were just never as big.

I would definitly like to see more Janice. :flirt: She's my favorite character and I never get to see her anymore. It's gotten to the point that when I tell other non-muppet fans that she's my favorite they don't even know who she is.

I miss her out of left field comments during big discussions.

"And i said look buddy, i dont take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is artistic"

she had another one but i just cant remember it off hand.

well I agree Pepe has been used a little excessively, but there's a reason why. He's a new character, and he is actually building a fan base. I had friends that hated the Muppets until Pepe showed up. So now, yes he does need to be used in moderation. He's a good pair with Rizzo, and that works (I think they used him well in MFS)

Well, I would LOOOOOOOVE to see more Rowlf...wouldn't everyone? and Johnny and Sal...those two crack me up to no end!

You're probably thinking of "so i said look mother, it's my life, okaay, so if i want to live on a beach and walk around naked..." (GMC)
Hehe! I love Janice!

But yeah, I agree with pretty much all that's been said except I wouldn't mind seeing Pepe a lot more now.

Also, why is it that Animal is featured so much on all the new merchandise when he has really had such a minor role all along? That bugs me.

Well, as some performers have passed away and some have retired, I think it's obvious that a lot of people have missed the characters that have kind of disappeared into the background. If Henson wants to bring back some of these characters (and they should!) they would have to find performers that are capable/willing to adopt some of the old faves while be given the opportunity to develop their own characters. So as someone mentioned eariler, a balance between the old and new. They've obviously started doing this with Scooter and Fozzie which is great. I miss the old dynamics between Fozzie and Kermit, I hope that that can be explored a little in the future. I'd love to see Floyd and Rowlf come back into the limelight, I think they're key characters that really help flesh out the group. Also, how can we forget the bunny everyone loves to hate, Bean!

YES! That's it, I just could not think of it.

I agree i really miss Flyod as well. In high school i had a theatre teacher who looked {and acted} just like him.

Yes thats it! Thanks, i just couldnt put it together and i didnt wanna embarass myself.

I like Animal. I think he kinda has a cult following. He's another one that has really taken off with a lot of college aged people. I cant emphasis that enough how a lot of college kids think the muppets are awesome. Guys like Pepe and Animal are really big with that age group. I am not ashamed to admit i drink out of an Animal coffee mug =)

I second a movie about the Electric Mayhem, their life and times, Kermit et all could be in it, just not the main characters.

I especially love a movie centered around PIS, which would probably have been Muppets IN Space (not Muppets FROM Space).

But What I'd like to see is a sketch comedy movie, sort of Like Monty Python's the Meaning of Life. 22 short films about the Muppets? Every Character could have a part of the movie to themselves...

I think that The Mayhem, Rowlf, Classic Gonzo (before he went all Steve Martin and became sophisticated) and of Course the Chef need bigger roles!
