Everything is great (except fot that terrible Lorne Michaels "Frosty Returns"). I love the original Rudolph, and The Little Drummer Boy is a real tear-jerker.

I'm not knocking the show - it was cute. And the fact that it brought (and still brings) happiness to people is great. I didn't mind it back then (though I admit, I was getting to the age where I was more into action...
1) Canon in the Muppet's storyline? I assumed that with so many variations, we're not suppoesd to even worry (or care) about this!
2) Muppet Babies the best animated series of all time? Is it possible that you feel this way solely on the fact that it's based on the Muppets? It was just another...

Yes, eighties hit shows are remade, ad nauseum. But Muppet Babies was just a spin-off series of a musical number from the least successful Muppet film of Jim's run. It was a sub-product, not unlike the Yellow...
No... it was scary! I think it was when I watched it (mid seventies) when scaring kids didn't seem to be a concern on that show. I still feel like calling a shrink when I see Frazzle....

I'm wondering if you Sesame experts would verify something for me. I'm either recalling an old sketch, or remembering a messed up dream. Did Cookie Monster ever have the 'midas touch' where everything and everyone he touched turned into a pile of cookies?
People have been saying (North) America has been ready for this since The Muppet Show. It hasn't happened yet.
I think it's not a matter of 'people being ready for the genre', but a matter of 'are productions companies ready to actually make something decent enough to last'.
