As we all know, when Disney bought the Muppets, they bought the rights to 4 of the best Muppet Movies, leaving behind Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppets from Space, Kermit's Swamp Years and It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. The former 3 were put in a value 3-pack w/ the 'MHC' and the new Muppet logo found in an itsy bitsy corner of the box. So where does this leave IAVMMCM? One would think, with NBC all over it (rival to Dis's ABC), it'd be the way of the dodo.

I see this video everywhere!

Toys R Us, Walmart, Best Buy, grocery chains, drug stores, record stores and always with a really attractive price (never above 9.99).

Last year I had a heck of a time tracking it down (post-audition madness put me on a huge A.D.D. Muppet video hunt). Now it's with nearly every Christmas impulse-buy DVD rack! In fact, it's much more readily available than any Disney-owned Muppet movie for the Christmas season, even Muppet Christmas Carol!

Ironically, this year I went to find Muppets Take Manhattan for Santa to put in my own stocking (hey, why shouldn't he, my wife and son get a nice sockfull). It was nowhere in the city, so I had to order it specially, where last year I could have gotten it anywhere.

So here are the DVD's and their availabilty in Ottawa...

IAVMMCM - everywhere, cheap
MFS - ditto
GMC - pretty good, 15.99 & up
TMM - one or two, here and there, same price
MCC - same
MTI - one copy at Best buy.
MWoO - same
MTM - nowhere
KSY - didn't look

and TMS Season 1's fuzzy version has remerged in a big way at the box stores.

I have seen this DVD in stores for the last few christmas. I think these are probably just unsold copies that the stores keep between the holiday season, so I don't know if this DVD is still in print.

I'm not too sure, last year and the year before it was pretty hard to find. Maybe MGM/NBC is capitalizing on the lack of availabilty of MHC stuff?

I don't think there's a page for the titles, but they are abbreviations. Here's a list to help:

IAVMMCM - It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie
MFS - Muppets From Space
GMC - The Great Muppet Caper
TMM - The Muppet Movie
MCC - The Muppet Christmas Carol
MTI - Muppet Treasure Island
MWoO - Muppets Wizard of Oz
MTM - The Muppets Take Manhattan
KSY - Kermit's Swamp Years

Hope this helps, and welcome to MC!!

I've seen it at K Mart and Wal Mart. Haven't really been anywhere else to know, lately.
