One thing about these videos that has been on my mind: So I can never find used copies of these anywhere, and don't really want to order online. A handful of these can be viewed on YouTube or Daily Motion (and a few others were online but taken offline within a short time frame). But one thing I...
There's something I've noticed on a few things I've watched online (and coincidentally they're all Muppet productions). I've noticed that sometimes when a scene transitions at the very side of the screen we see video of something else, usually what comes before or after that transition. I guess...
Shortly after I made my post I figured it'd probably include at least the Numeric Con street story. And now it's confirmed that that street story will be included (we still don't know if it will be two full episodes or just street stories and inserts).
The announced bonus features are a...
A few years ago I had read that in the new movie that although the turtles would be costumes, they would have CGI faces. Anybody know whether this happened in the new movie (I haven't really paid attention to the commercials to figure it out) or if maybe they canceled that idea?
When reading that one article about making digital copies in 1999 and providing a system where they can find what clips they're looking for through keywords, it kind of sounds like what I've heard about the upcoming "Simpsons World" app where fans can view any episode, even being able to find...
While it is one of the three best seasons, it seems like a number of characters were starting to be used a lot less this season (though they would have fairly big parts in The Muppet Movie). There's not as much Crazy Harry, Sweetums, or Dr. Teeth as in the previous seasons.
It's especially...
It seems the 20th anniversary special avoided showing any former cast members. The clip of Big Bird learning of Mr. Hooper's death was edited to remove most shots of Olivia, but she can barely be seen during the group hug at the end.
At least this one does show former cast members quite a...
I wonder if guest stars play a factor in being over- or underrated (or just plain classics). There's some guests (like Elton John and Steve Martin) who are still relevant today, and some (such as Peter Sellers, Julie Andrews, Bob Hope, and Edgar Bergen) who seem to be "legends" in show business...
It's interesting how this doesn't use the recent "calypso" version of the theme that had debuted around that time. The version of the theme at the beginning sounds like the backing track to the version from Sesame Street Special, while the end music is the classic harmonica closing theme.
I disagree about a few of those episodes not having the raw feeling I've mentioned, but I guess we can all have different opinions on that. Though just because an episode feels very "raw" doesn't mean that it's a terrible episode.
As for other underrated episodes, I feel like the Teresa...
I think you're mixing up the Play-Along Videos with the Playhouse Video compilations. Playhouse Video put out the compilations, such as The Muppet Revue and The Kermit and Piggy Story, while the Play-Along Videos were completely new footage (well, the Mother Goose Stories one was a release of...
Well, I feel it would be great for many old clips to appear on the show, to audiences that don't neccessarily buy DVDs or use the internet (though there's not many who don't use the internet these days). Especially since, if they did continue showing older clips, maybe they'd randomly show some...
It's also interesting how that article stated that their new system for locating segments for new episodes came a few years before the format change, when they would start airing longer segments and significantly less classic clips. Though even without the majority of classic-era clips there...
Yeah, it seems like it's mostly the first half of the first season with "raw feeling" episodes, with a few "stronger feeling" episodes here and there, and a few more "raw feeling" episodes near the end of the season, especially episode 24. Of course, that's most likely a result of the production...
It was so good to see that article from 1999 again regarding them duplicating the episodes. So I guess this does answer what I've been wondering (and have sort of suspected all along) about how the inserts are stored, if they're just stored in the episodes they aired in or if there were...
In October 7 there'll be "Elmo's Super Numbers". Currently Muppet Wiki only has the title and date listed (no cover, no info on what kind of release it is, etc.).
I've read that the program guides only go up to season 12. I don't think Muppet Wiki has any pages on season 11 or 12 episodes that come from those guides (and I think there's still season 10 episodes to add).
Top ten Muppet/Henson/Sesame productions I want to see:
1. Muppet Madness
2. Muppet Treasures
3. Fozzie's Muppet Scrapbook
4. Rowlf's Rhapsodies with the Muppets
5. Out to Lunch
6. Sesame Street at Night?
7. Anything shot for the "First Show" (Bobby McFerrin) episode of The Jim Henson Hour that...
I can't really decide if this special feels "bigger" than the 20th anniversary special or not. Maybe they're both bigger in different ways. This one had a heavy celebrity focus, in both the linking footage and in the clips (it seems more than half the total clips had celebrities). It also seems...
