Well, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz was included in that list of "in development" (I'm not sure if all were in development at the time, or if they were all scripts and treatments regardless of whether plans were canceled) projects, and is the only one on that list that did get made.
If the criteria for an "underratted" episode being that it was not included in "The Best of TMS" releases (and the two I listed were not), then the first season has a lot of underrated episodes. Paul Williams, Avery Scrieber, Kaye Ballard, Ethel Merman, Connie Stevens, Valerie Harper... But...
The Put Down the Duckie clip is followed by a clip from another appearance by John Candy on the show.
It's also interesting how some of the celebrities to make cameos (Danny DeVito, Rosie O'Donnel) also appear in some of the clips.
One fan had obtained a big document book from when Disney bought the Muppets, which had a section which mentioned that Henson previously had no copyright on MTM or MFS. A blog post featuring various scans from this document can be found here...
No, I don't. Come to think of it, a few years ago, somebody had wondered why she wasn't reunited for the 20th anniversary special, and I wondered if maybe she'd died (though I do not know either way, hopefully she hasn't).
I think there's only a few kids who appeared on the show who have...
It was so good to see the whole special after all these years. I recorded it but it stopped halfway through the "Worm TV" montage, and my recording started at the last second of Barbra Walter's introduction. Actually, I didn't get to watch the beginning "live" when it was broadcast, so this is...
I wonder if Steve Whitmire did much performing in these. Kermit appears at the beginning of the first episode, and I haven't noticed Steve performing any other characters.
Despite Kermit being in just a little of the series so far, the credits give Steve Whitmire "Starring" credit (Kermit...
If this was made two years ago, I wonder what took them so long to actually release it.
I noticed at the beginning that Walter refers to Muppets Most Wanted. I'm pretty sure it didn't have that title in 2012, so either some of it was shot recently or Peter Linz dubbed the line.
A couple more ideas:
#1. Rerelease many old Muppet storybooks (if Disney has the rights to do so). For the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, there was a special book compilation of many existing Sesame Street books, so the Muppets could do the same. Maybe include Robin Hood, Two for the Show...
Yeah, after getting the third season DVD I noticed how Bear on Patrol first appeared very late in the season, with three in a small time span (including one that was significantly different from the others). And sometime later, after looking at the guide at Muppet Wiki, noticed that Bear on...
I had only watched them once when I posted this, and then I watched again after posting... This is what happens when I only watch something once on the day it premieres.
Suddenly I wonder: Is it really called "Disney Drive On", or just "Drive On", with the Disney logo over it, like how many recent Disney productions have "Disney" (instead of "Disney's") over the titles.
Here's part of an episode: http://video.disney.com/watch/kermit-left-me-in-charge-disney-drive-on-with-the-muppets-disney-movies-anywhere-4ff6e46249e287809be4d010
Not too sure how I feel about the Muppets working at Disney in-universe. It'd be better if they were running their own Muppet studio.
Actually, Matt Vogel is only the understudy for Big Bird. I think he talked about Oscar in an interview, can't exactly remember what he said, but Oscar doesn't seem to have an understudy. Of course the whole point of having Vogel be an understudy for Big Bird in the first place was because...
