Have you ever heard the Jeff Foxworthy routine in which a guy tells him a story in which his brother-in-law gets his nipple bitten off by a half dead beaver? It's on "Big Funny" if you haven't.
OK. I'll help out here.
1) Muppet Treasure Island- Reason: This is the only Muppet movie to be (in my opinion) truly great throughout. Why? Well, there's a lot of Rizzo, Sam and Sweetums; Piggy has a reduced role; the script is fantastic and comical; the puppeteers are all in top form; the...
My advice to you is this: Go, just to see the look on her face. And search on Google for some cheap tickets to "Phantom of the Opera" and go see that, to make the trip more worthwile than it would have been.
I'd really like a girlfriend, and with my short list of requirements, I could probably find one tomorrow: 1) Good sense of Jerry Seinfeld's humor; 2) A good height; 3) Fairly smart (but this is not a requisite.) If I am to believe the jokes that I hear, I'd rather stay single. If I am to believe...
Trust me, Princeton, you will. I'm still looking, but I've got a couple in mind... ;) (If one of you is here and you know who I am, send me a PM.) I won't tell you who. But trust me, you'll definitely find someone. It really is good to move on. I've had to do that once or twice myself. And I've...
I always thought that MT! was an under-rated show. My only complaints about it are Clifford and the way that many stories tried to make 'personal connections' between the guest star and a Muppet. (The Jason Alexander springs to mind.) However, there were some very funny new characters in it...
I have nothing against Frank personally. I think that he is an extremely talented puppeteer, and a very funny man when you listen to him in person. However, there are a number of things that get on my nerves about his characters. Sam I love. Animal I don't care about. Fozzie is OK, and I hate...
Well, I knew there would come a time when this would happen: I've got my own blog! You can visit it at http://thatannouncer.blogspot.com.
Let me know what you think!
My list, as well, is rather extensive.
Real People:
George Bush
John Kerry
Paul Martin
Jean Chretien
Jim Henson
Robin Williams
Regis Philbin
Alex Trebek
Johnny Carson
Jay Leno
Penn (of Penn & Teller)
Amazing James Randi
Ed "Begley" Jr.
Brad Roberts (of the Crash Test Dummies)...
I do not understand why everybody rags on Kirk for MWoO, as he did not write it. He had nothing to do with MFS. He did Elmo in Grouchland, working as an extra puppeteer. Look through Kirk's resume- you'll find very few bad things, if any at all. I say we elevate Kirk to a higher position. But...
I do not call myself a purist in any way. I think Pepe might have been the highlight of MWoO. I think Lips should be with the EM. I think Bill Barretta is an extremely talented, hilarious performer. I do not think Jim is the greatest performer the Muppets will ever see. I hate all of Frank's...
It's not false information, depending on your choice of Sesame series. Johnny T did Ernie on PWMS, and by information received earlier, he was just a stand in because Steve couldn't do it. I do not see Steve dropping Ernie anytime soon.
Ed:
In response to your question regarding Clifford, I would add him as "The Poppyfields Bouncer" and not the owner. It seems that his role was more of a bouncer, as the owner would probably be inside somewhere and not outside the building as he was. The rest of the characters seem pretty...
Ed: The character who "topped it off with a hose" is not named Floyd, he is named Angel Marie. He first showed up in MTI, and here he's a prominent member of the Flying Monkeys. He has a huge round head, two pigtails, warts, wrinkles, a fat stomach and speaks with a deep voice. I would add him...
As a director, I couldn't agree with you more. Brian needs to step in and bring his skills back. Not one truly great Muppet film has been made post-MTI, and that was Brian's last film. (In my opinion, as well, no truly great Muppet film- with the POSSIBLE exception of GMC- was made BEFORE Brian...
My new list does indeed have more than five, and goes like this:
1) Professional Pirate (MTI)
2) It Feels Like Christmas (MCC)
3) Fifty Ways to Leave your Lover (TMS)
4) C Is For Cookie (SS)
5) Room In Your Heart (deleted from MCC)
6) Can You Picture That? (TMM)
7) Nightlife...
Hi all. I'm posting this a tad late (the christening was Sunday and this is Thursday), but better late than never!
The christening went wonderfully. Lily only cried once, and the preacher was very funny and friendly. The church was small enough that I felt like it was a personal celebration...
