Kermit is now a Disney owned character, Dil. SW needs special permission to use him in new material. Also, they may be able to bring back those classic characters but probably just as background players until they get suitable new voices for them.

I don't think they would ever write a sketch with only Prairie and Kermit. Mainly because they sorta play too similar a role on the show. They are both "straight men" almost exclusively. Notice that Prairie is now the one playing the role Kermit would normally play in the Letter of the Day...
