I've been doing a little search of the old newsgroups, and unearthed a thread about Jim Henson's memorial Service, http://groups.google.co.uk/group/rec.arts.henson+muppets/browse_thread/thread/2f01ecf71fe75601/b0d55ff922443028?lnk=st&q=&rnum=1&hl=en#b0d55ff922443028
In the thread, Gabe Velez...
Hmm, well here's a few sugguests how about asking him:
1. What was it like to come into Spitting Image (Series 2) immediately taking over the job of Leading Puppeteer?
2 Seeing as he has directed puppeteers, actors, and sometimes people doing both; What are the similarities and differences...
Well I'm very interested to read in this thread, that according to the sleeve notes my favourite West End Musical Theatre performer is singing on the album! - as far as I'm concerned that'll be something to listen out for, and a good reason for getting the album.- There's a quintessential...
I don't know about who any of the really major characters were based on. But I've got a pretty strong hunch that Annie Sue Pig was based on a certain British actress (who nowadays can most certainly be found performing feature roles in West End musicals).
I gotta nominate Big Mama from TMS - she also popped up briefly in Faffner Hall.
She had a certain outrageous quality to her (if her infamous RVP story is anything to go by).
There seems to have been a bit of Thread-revival going on recently, so I thought I'd revive this thread.
I was just wondering, does anyone know who puppeteered Stinky's Aunt Sniffy, and which episode(s) she appeared in?
Emma
I think those of you who know me already know that my favourite muppeteer is Louise Gold. - She's versatile, funny, nice, she can sing-dance & act with or without a puppet, and above all she's got a great singing voice, in particular a terrific belt voice.
My second favourite is Jerry...
I wonder who here remembers Roland Rat's BBC TV Series, back in 1986 and 1988.
I have been looking into the interesting matter of who actually were "The RatCrew" on Roland Rat's BBC Series; and which characters did which members of the RatCrew perform.
So far the list I've got reads...
Also way too many. However, here's selection:
I Get A Kick Out Of U (Ethel Mermaid on Sesame Street)
I Can Sing Anything When I Sing With You (Herry Monster & Louisey on Sesame Street)
We Got Us (TMS)
Rainbow Connection (The Muppet Movie)
Light Will Make It Right (SLoT)
I'm...
Mr Jerry Nelson,
It's lovely to read you posting on the messageboard again.
Sorry to read you've had such a tough time of it. Glad to read that you are doing better. You keep on, but I certainly echo the words of Beauregard, don't overdo things too soon, just go at your own pace.
Funnily...
I have recently been browsing the Muppet WIKI section on Mopatop's shop. Having never before paid much attention to that programme.
From the WIKI, I learn that there were four series. Now I know that Louise Gold puppeteered some of the customers etc on Season 2. But what I am wondering is...
If anyone is interested the Joseph Papp film of The Pirates Of Penzance is being screened on ITV3 tomorrow (Sunday). I believe this film is also available on DVD.
Also I notice that the long forgotten British film Billy The Kid And The Green Baize Vampire has recently been released on DVD...
I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the Nestrapolitan Opera in this thread. I remember there is one episode (from the early 1990s) in which a Diva sings the alphabet. - Actually I've never been lucky enough to see this skit properly, I caught part of it by accident one time, and therein lies...
If anyone is interested, I've written an amateur review of the show, which I have put on the web on: http://www.qsulis.demon.co.uk/Reviews/Avenue_Q.htm
