I'm looking for a copy of the 1990 TV special "The Muppets at Walt Disney World." This is one of the only Muppet specials from my childhood that I don't have on tape and I'd love to see it again.
So, does anyone have this available for trade? I have a few classic Muppet specials on tape...
Fun topic. I used to watch Sesame every day around noon and then would follow that with Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow. My siblings and neighbor would usually watch it too and then my mom would make us all "muffin tin" lunches (don't ask...lol). After lunch, we'd often break out the old...
Yeah, NBC did a HORRIBLE job of letting viewers know Scrubs was moving. It makes the show seem unimportant to the network--but they'll need it next year after Friends and Frasier are finished up. When these shows move around, they can't build a core audience to sustain it once the quality...
Yep, I've heard the same thing on various Disney rumor sites. It does seem a little odd, but they just spent a ton on Mission: Space. Besides, ANYTHING they can add new to Epcot is much needed these days.
That's interesting. David Stern IS a marketing genius and his turnaround of the NBA in the 1980s almost parallels that of Eisner at Disney. Plus, he's known as someone who can get deals done and rarely fails to get his way. My guess is that it's unlikely he'd want to leave the NBA after...
The first one that came to my mind was "Return to Oz". There are TONS of scenes and characters in this just waiting for the MST3K gang to poke fun at: the wheelers, Jack Pumpkin, Tick-Tock, the scene with all the screaming heads, etc. I like the movie, but it's perfect for that kind of thing...
I'd like to see Carolina win since New England just won a few years ago. But, I think New England will take it again this year. NE's defense might be a bit better and Brady's awfully good in these big games. Plus, they have the whole experience factor. It should be a good defensive battle...
That's a lot of generalizations in these last few posts. First, "all" is generally a bad choice of words when describing people. There are plenty of "nerds" who don't become successful and plenty of "popular" kids who do. The opposite is true too. I do agree that one's social standing in...
NO KIDDING!! Even if it's not the complete series, I'd definitely buy a DVD containing a few episodes of these (and many, many other) shows. I'm sure many others who grew up with this stuff would too. (sigh) Maybe someday...
Unfortunately, I don't...and I'm usually good at remembering all those old 80s shows. The ACTS channel never made it up to Minnesota (or at least our cable system). From what I could find on the web, it sounds like Sunshine Factory was designed as a Christian kids show--that's pretty cool.
I...
Mattie!! That does kind of ring a bell!! I agree though--what kind of name is Fair Dinkum? Of course, it's not often you see koala bears in a circus, so I guess they were on new ground there. Kinda strange how they didn't have the mouse or crows from the original Dumbo movie as characters...
Croonchy Stars were great!! Actually, I don't remember what the cereral tasted like, but I still have a box (sadly, not unopened like Phil's) somewhere in my parents' basement. I also have a newspaper article about it entitled "Muppet Magic Chasing Cereal Sales." My favorite part was the maze...
Whoa!! You remembered way more than I did. I completely forgot about the koala guy being the ringmaster and Sebastian the alley cat!! Good times. Also, there was Lionel (a lion of course). The show seemed like it was on all the time back then. For those who missed out (or have fuzzy...
They were still running it in the 90's?! Gee, I wish I'd known that--though by then I was probably "too old" for the Disney channel (or so I thought). We stopped getting Disney channel for a few years back when it was still a premium channel. Yeah, it was a very quality show. There SO needs...
Actually, there was a 1980s live-action show called "Welcome to Pooh Corner" on the Disney Channel. Each episode was hosted by some British guy who narrated the story as if reading it to the viewer. I used to watch that and "Dumbo's Circus" (also live action) all the time back then.
BTW...
Follow That Bird is a very nostalgic movie for me. I was born in 1980, and was in prime Sesame Street age when FTB came out. We took a family car trip from Minnesota to St. Louis in the summer of '85 and listened to nothing but the FTB soundtrack (cassette back then of course) all the way...
Yep, it's on CBS next Sunday.
Good point. That's probably a far better guess than Bill Parcells...lol. I guess I heard "Super Bowl" and could't get my mind off the NFL--though 'hot' in quotation marks makes Jessica Simpson MUCH more likely than Bill Parcells. :o
That's awesome. Now, I'm actually excited for the Super Bowl. My guess is Bill Parcells--coach of the Dallas Cowboys and nicknamed "the Tuna." I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
Yeah, me too. I'm not sure if Odyssey's still around. Anyone know? Personally, I think it would fit great on TV Land.
Of course, they could show it on C-SPAN 2 at 4am and I'd still watch it (or at least tape it).
