I'm a Minnesota Twins fan too!! I'm living in Ohio now and it's weird not seeing their games on a regular basis (though I hear that's an issue in Minnesota too...lol). Actually, my loyalties are split between the Twins and the Cubs who I grew up watching on WGN.
The season should be...
A zero? Gee, that's being very pessimistic. Even if they just show the few older clips mentioned in the article, it'll be well worth an hour of my time.
Mark, out of curiousity--what would YOU do with the Muppets? Obviously, you're not a big fan of the Disney purchase or anything post-Jim (which is somewhat understandable), so what kind of projects would you like to see?
Disney now owns all of the "classic" Muppet characters. The deal is NOT limited solely to production and distribution. Basically, Disney can do anything they want with the characters--from filming new movies to building Muppet attractions in their theme parks to producing new merchandise...
Well, many people watch movies to escape from reality. Therefore, not every movie has to be ultra realistic to be entertaining.
Many of the most popular movies of all time (i.e. Star Wars, The Princess Bride) are essentially fairy tales on some level. Why? Because people want to leave...
While Disneyland itself doesn't have Muppetvision 3D, there is one right next door at Disney's California Adventure. I'd assume California Adventure (along with all the Disney parks) will get several new Muppet attractions in the next few years too.
I know it's a billion times bigger and better now, but I went there just after it opened in the early 90s and it was awful. It seeemed like a cheap Disney wannabe. There were only six or seven rides back then and many of the rides (Jaws, Kongfrontation) weren't working. Also, nothing will...
The Best Song performances absolutely killed the show's momentum. Personally, I thought the songs were all kind of boring and seemed to last forever. But, I may not be a good judge of music either...lol. Black and Ferrell were hilarious though. Overall, a decent show and it was good to see...
First, there's mixed opinions on Jim Hill. Personally, I take anything he says with a grain of salt--he tends to be overly dramatic and exaggerate things. But, he does write some good pieces every now and then.
As for the Henson "kids", that's pretty harsh. Jim Henson always advocated...
Good point. If I recall, it did seem like MFS was just kinda dumped out in the middle of summer--I don't know that it even came to my local theater. So, perhaps that's not the best comparison. ;)
I guess my point was just that the Muppets aren't popular enough right now for Disney to...
I don't recall all the details but there has been a nasty lawsuit going on for YEARS between the family of Stephen Slesinger and Disney over royalties for Winnie the Pooh characters. Apparently, Slesinger claims Disney has cheated him out of millions after he bought merchandising rights for...
Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous. Fortunately, Larry was quick in cutting off some of those viewer calls. Still, it would have been great to hear someone ask for more details on what Eisner wants to do with the Muppets.
I can't say I'd blame Eisner for being hesitant to release a Muppet...
Well, like a few others, I'm going to play the optimist here. I agree that some sort of parntership would have been much better (and it's too bad the Fraggles weren't included), but at least the Muppets will have new opportunities.
Let's face it--the Muppets with the Jim Henson company...
Well, I did some quick research and apparently the "poor man's copyright" doesn't help much.

BTW, that scene was very well-written. As a long-time Muppet fan, I was impressed. Best of luck with the script if anything comes of it. Good...
I'm in no way an expert about this, but my understanding is that it provides a date that you created it. When you mail it to yourself, the Post Office will stamp the postmark date. Then, you leave the envelope unopened (w/ the script inside). If someone else were to later claim your work as...
My two favorite scenes are Fozzie and Kermit in the Studebaker (that's a great song and Big Bird's cameo was fun) and the last 20 minutes or so when they reprise the Rianbow Connection and the set starts to fall apart. The chaos surrounding it is what I've always loved about the Muppets...
