I remember an episode I saw years ago, where Gordon sings a song about how he was afraid of the dark as a child, that even adults can be scared. That had an impact on me at the time.

This has happened to me a few times, I've had dreams where the people in it sing an entire song, something I've definitely never heard before. Then the next morning, I can't remember how it went at all. I can never figure out if there was an actual song in the dream, or if I was just imagining it.

The characters as I remember were Miss Piggy (of course), Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Rizzo, Janice, Sam, I think Zoot. There were others in the control room scene, but I don't remember them all. Yeah Andy Kaufman was in it, playing his alter ego Tony Clifton.

It is an interesting observation. Well, when Junior Gorg made his Fraggle trap in "Mokey's Funeral", he used garlic gumdrops (or something like that), he couldn't imagine anyone NOT liking them. But Mokey was certainly disgusted! That's what the show's all about, different perspectives.
