I understand about the bullying, ilikemuppets. For me, elementary and middle school was an extremely difficult time for the same reason. It took me awhile to realize I shouldn't listen to people who were being mean.
I guess that's what I mean when I say school should not define a person's...
Oh yeah I don't mind that the posts were about us, I think that's cool.
Yeah, when I say college, I'm meaning like a university. That's interesting, college means 7th to 12th grade where you are! High school in US is generally 9th to 12th.
I saw Fuzzyface on TV once, I could tell he must have been a really early version of Grover. I don't remember too much about the sketch, but I was slightly shocked at how harsh he was.
Well, Frank Oz did say Grover was "organic" character and developed on his own over time.
I used to watch Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus everyday. Very silly stuff, but fun for kids. I remember Pooh Corner did a special on not talking to strangers (just like every show in the '80s did, wish they still did). The characters sang, "Say no, run away from people you don't know!"
I watched the original "Good Morning Miss Bliss" show all the time too. I even remember when they were first advertising it on the Disney channel. But for some reason it just wasn't as good as Saved By the Bell. The kids just seemed really, i don't know, down all the time.
Showgirls had a good...
I doubt she was lying because the same thing happened to me. People gave me a hard time, and then revealed to me in the end how jealous they were. Because I had confidence and didn't follow the crowd, and cared about people. It's funny how people always seem to wait till the end to say how...
Halcyon, ooo now that is vocab word! :D You'll definitely see that on the SATs! lol
College, for me, was shocking. It felt like retirement after high school. People suddenly weren't as concerned with popularity. Nobody got detention (although some probably should have hehe). Your classes...
Yeah, everyone's confused and in pain. I remember on the TV show Saved By the Bell, Zack said, "High School is the best time of your life!" I thought, "yeah right!!!" lol
And yes Muppet Newgirl, I was amazed at how different the professors were in college!
I don't want to start a debate or anything. I understand if people had bad experiences in parochial or private schools. I just wanted to make sure Catholic schools weren't going to get a bum rap here. :)
High school is ALWAYS a drag, whether it's religious or public. Don't get me wrong, I really liked my high school but it was still a very difficult time, worrying about class and friends etc. College is a lot better. Just hang in there and do your best. :)
Yeah we never had a two week vacation in high school. We had a week for Christmas and like a couple days for Easter and then summer vacation. Well that was Catholic school anyway.
Heh, someday. Like "someday my prince will come" (as with Robin's analogy). I didn't even think of that when I wrote it!
Heh, yeah editors and producers, never in between shall meet!
