    John Denver

Yeah, a lot of people disagreed with that cutting decision. It mean, the accident was certainly tragic, but he loved flying. People are so sensitive to "not offending" anyone.

First Muppet movie you saw in the theater?

I don't remember this at all, but my very first movie theater experience ever was Follow That Bird. Unfortunately, since this was my first time at the movies, I started crying and had to be dragged out! :o But I eventually got to see the movie on tape and loved it! That's so cool for you guys...

    Presidential Election 2008

Yup, and I've known people who followed the "lesser of two evils" doctrine for years. It hasn't made them any happier! Things will change eventually, but unfortunately things will have to get worse before they get better.

    Thoughts on Convincing John

Well, I know Convincing John was performed by Jim Henson in his second episode, "The Secret of Convincing John." In the old '80s Muppet documentary "Henson's Place", they have footage of Jim performing him, with Kathy, Richard and Dave doing his back up singers.

    Thoughts on Convincing John

Right, although that brings up a dark point. Would he ever be able to turn down an offer if it was morally wrong? Maybe that's also why he's considered so dangerous. Relativism in the extreme, the idea that nothing can be right or wrong. Which means anything could be justified. Wembley, at...

    Presidential Election 2008

No you're right. That's the rule, you can't be President if you weren't born in America. Who knows, they may have to change it if no one better comes along!

    John Denver

I just bought my Dad a John Denver CD for his birthday, he's a huge fan. I like his work too. Even when I was a child, whenever I was around nature, I was reminded of his songs. That's quite a legacy, to be identified with nature, and I think that's what he wanted. I had no idea John Denver...

    Grover using contractions

Yeah, Data on Star Trek had the same problem. As a rule, he never used contraditions, but the actor was always getting mail pointing out times when he had!

When did Richard Hunt start having trouble performing Sweetums?

That's interesting, I didn't know John Henson was performing Sweetums even in 1987. Hmm...wish I knew more about this. I'll check around.

    Thoughts on Convincing John

I get the impression John performs the gig asked of him at the moment and nothing more. Otherwise, his reputation for being a reliable convincer might suffer.

    The RHLC!

I hear you, we played sports occasionally like baseball, football, and ultimate frizbee (yeah...). I am not athletically inclined (though I can catch balls very well!). Not only did the boys give me a hard time, but some of the teachers did too. They couldn't seem to comprehend that I didn't...

    Thoughts on Convincing John

Yeah apparently Mokey's a pretty good convincer herself! And John is able to see things from all points of view. Btw, I love the episode where it's revealed John is a wembler too, and just like Wembley, he also has trouble deciding what side of the bed to get out on. It made him seem more...

    Thoughts on Convincing John

To me, I always thought they lived together because they were a group, like a rock band that tours together. I never thought they were related. But it is a kid's show, so they wouldn't go too far in depth, hehe.

    The RHLC!

Wow, a sports uniform. We had to bring in our own clothes for gym. It's interesting to hear about this stuff! Do you have a gym-type of class? Still, your uniforms sound a lot nicer than ours, more flattering anyway. Ours are so cheaply made it's not even funny!

I wonder if we'd be more or less inhibited in person than we are on the message board... Wow, Kiki, I wish my school had had more uniform options! Although, they FINALLY let the girls wear pants in junior year. Do you have that option?

    Silly Creatures

Right, that's why I always saw John's "human being" reference as one of Fraggle Rock's many unexplained anachronims. Hehe, that makes sense, Boober's just washing for himself.

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

Third person to mention this episode. I think I was the first. I remember running up to my Mom crying because of what happened to Camilla.

Is There a Muppet in the House?

Glad you found it, I remember that episode! I know how hard it is to track down stuff on your tapes, even when you're positive you have them!

    Silly Creatures

Well, I think "silly creatures" was a name Traveling Matt made up. I don't think Convincing John would have necessarily used it. I don't know if anyone else used the term "human being." Personally, I always thought John's mention of a "human being" was one of the many unexplained anachronisms...
