Hey Antony!
Those are great pictures. In the ones where his lids are lowered, did you pin them that way, or did you just brush his eyebrows forward to give the impression that his eyes were more closed?
:p
Actually, I agree with you. Someone up there is stuffing the ballot box. Maybe they work in a big office and they're getting everyone to vote. I don't see how anyone could vote for anything besides Memphis. Kevin's pictures look professional. None of the others do.
:p
I know you're just daydreaming here, but I'll play along.
I think the way you worded that last sentence hits the nail on the head... these puppets are beautiful.
The only way I'd want these characters is as puppets, not as posers. I can't see a whole lot of possibilities for poses, unless...
I had a tough time choosing between Rowlf and Scooter, but chose Rowlf because he was Jim's other most famous character and the second oldest behind Kermit (of the puppets that made it to The Muppet Show).
:p
This is the only thing I disagree with you on, although you are not incorrect. I like to pose the collar away from the body slightly. Even though the puppet could never do this, on the poser I think it helps add a little dimension.
:p
Cookie Monster's pupils are secured with tiny (very tiny) screws. I remember that distinctly since you can see the slot in the end on close inspection, but I don't know what the actual eyeballs are made from.
:p
In terms of the ones easiest for them to make accurate, Scooter, Rowlf, Bunsen and Beaker are the simplest shapes with just a few features added on. Heck, Bunsen doesn't even have eyes, just glasses. And Scooter's eyes are part of his glasses. But with all four of these, you don't run into...
The other thing is, if he's that close to shipping from China, there's no reason they can't show us updated photos that show what the final product will actually look like... just like the Animal proto that was at Comic-Con. That one was final and that's what he looked like when we got him...
I agree. I think the real mistake was putting him up for pre-order before he was final. It's nice that they show us the protos and I appreciate that and also the fact that they do (sometimes) listen to some of the feedback. But they really shouldn't be selling a product that you can't see...
All I can tell you is what Travis told me at the Con, and that was that both his fur and suit were the wrong colors on the proto and that they would be changed. If there's newer information than that, I haven't heard it. And we haven't seen pictures of a newer proto than the one they had at...
And you're not going to be able to just paint these black or add extra fur to them to cover them up.
I talked to Travis about making the eyelids poseable at Comic-Con. That was when he said the ship had sailed on Animal, but he would look into it for Gonzo. I have a feeling that didn't...
I don't mean to beat a dead chicken here, but if the sock nose is the final solution, then I definitely won't be buying Gonzo.
I saw it in person at Comic-Con and it just doesn't look right at all. Not only does it look like netting, but it has visible seams in it that stick out.
The odd...
I'm with you on this one, doc. From the rumblings around here, a lot of people who preordered the other two are not preordering Gonzo, so I'm not worried about him selling out early.
I also have some faith in Master Replicas, but the complete lack of updated information on nose solutions has...
I already posted this in the "Future Muppet Replicas Wishlist" topic, but thought it could also use its own topic as well.

I don't know if it was just an oversight, but note the absence of the Gonzo, Piggy...
