I agree, saying the DVD is not for kids is unneccesary and ridiculous. Kids enjoy watching older shows all the time. The only people they're hurting with that attitude are the kids.
Personally, if I had kids, I'd feel better showing them this DVD than the current show.
And I agree, parents...
Glad you liked them, ilikemuppets! And glad you remembered them too. I used to think I watched Sesame Street as a child. Now I'm not sure since there is so much I've never seen before!
That librarian sketch, I don't know why but I was laughing out loud the whole time, lol "THAT'S RIGHT...
I personally thought the Jim Henson Hour was good. A little unfocused like everyone says, but not enough to warrant being cancelled, in my opinion. The thing was, it was perfect for hard-core Muppet fans but probably didn't reach a big enough overall audience. Plus, I think the TV people took it...
Yay, the entire clip of Don Music's "Mary Had a Bicycle" has finally been posted!

My favorite part is when Don says to poor Kermit, "I'll never get it! Never! You won't help!" lol
This other clip's...
I get what you're saying. Like I said, if it was discussed in U.S.'s Sesame Street, it would have to more reflect our own situation.
The quilt sounds more and more ambitious, hope you have a good time making it and can't wait to see it!
Some Christian denominations are against gambling, others are not. I'm Catholic, and we do have gambling (Bingo for one), it's not considered a sin, unless it's starts becoming an addiction and a problem.
I think that makes sense, you just can't let it become an obsession.
Thanks, Fragglemuppets, I was a little worried about being misunderstood. And you're right, debates go a lot easier if everyone is respectful.
I'm glad Kami spoke about it so plainly, that's the reality. It gives the show depth and provides a bit of hope, rather than pretending the problems...
I know, it's so frustrating. It just keeps going on and on. Though I think part of their motivation for keeping them separate is the fear of other people causing trouble because of it. That's why the people in Kosovo wanted the Sesame signs to be separate. It's a mixture of fear of...
I know what you mean. Adult issues shouldn't affect children so deeply. On the other hand, it's hard to keep it from children when their homes are being attacked. One thing that documentary showed was that kids in other countries have to grow up faster, going to work for their family etc.
Interesting topic! I know what you're saying, there were times when The Muppets appeared on Ed Sullivan or The Tonight Show and jokes didn't get huge laughs. ::shrugs:: That's normal for live performances, you never know what will go over.
