Your Thoughts: The World According to Sesame Street

Yeah that really surprised me too, Afghanistan still seems like a work in progress to me. I mean, if the people there want a Sesame Street that's great, but it's a very strange situation. When the documentary was shown at The Museum of TV and Radio, Marty Robinson talked about training...

Your Thoughts: The World According to Sesame Street

Not only that, the film makers and film editor behind the documentary are all women! That really surprised me (in a good way)!

Your Thoughts: The World According to Sesame Street

Yeah, Kosovo is a tough situation. It's hard to try and promote peace and understanding when the people are still attacking each other and afraid. It's hard to like or understand a group who is trying to hurt you. But it's not impossible; all the Sesame Street people can do is just try to...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Old School DVD

I ordered the DVD the other day, but I think I'll wait until Christmas to open it. It'll be hard but ::sigh:: I'll manage!

    The RHLC!

For me personally, I'm not against Kami coming the U.S.'s Sesame Street. But, while I think she's serving a good purpose in South Africa, I just think she wouldn't make as much sense over here. The U.S. has an AIDS problem, but no where near South Africa. Like they said in the documentary, in...

SS special on PBS (Oct. 24th, 9:00-10:30 PM)

It said 12:30Am, October 26th. So that means it's on tonight when it becomes 12:30am. That is always very confusing...lol

That's what I think too, parents are the ultimate models for children, for better or for worse.

    The RHLC!

Well, I don't want to get political, and I certainly don't fully understand their situation, but it's hard to try and promote peace in a country where they're still attacking each other and being afraid. I guess the hope is that a show like Sesame Street can at least give kids a better lesson on...

    The RHLC!

It was interesting; in Bangladesh the country's people seemed really behind the idea, but the government had issues. Whereas in Kosovo, the people were unsure, and the government hardly seemed involved.

Me too, I hadn't realized how much detail went into her story. But it is a serious situation over there, so I suppose they can't afford to avoid things.

    The RHLC!

Yeah it was nice to see the children were happy with the results. I hadn't seen Kami before, so that was interesting. The whole South Africa part was difficult to watch, I definitely teared up the first time.

SS special on PBS (Oct. 24th, 9:00-10:30 PM)

Marty did say at The Museum event that the Muppet style of puppeteering is very specific and it was a challenge teaching people who weren't familiar with it. Oh yeah, that's where I'd heard the head moving story before! Still, I imagine it's also very rewarding at times.

SS special on PBS (Oct. 24th, 9:00-10:30 PM)

Yeah, Kevin was training in China, and Marty was seen training in Bangladesh. I liked when he was telling the puppeteer to stop moving his head when he talked.
