    Question about authentic Muppet Props

I don't mean to get nitpicky, and I'm not doubting that he's a real Fozzie, but even taking into account that the foam in his nose seems to have disintegrated, he doesn't look like a first season Fozzie to me. First season Fozzie had those big fabric folds at the corners of his mouth, which...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Sorry, this just reinforces my opinion from when I saw it in person at the Con. I hate the way Kermit, Bunsen and especially Gonzo look. (I thought Gonzo looked like a bird before I read Frogboy's comment). The others I just don't like. This gives true meaning to the old adage "Don't judge...

    Question about authentic Muppet Props

Yikes! That Fozzie is freaky! Was that a prototype that was never screen used? Fozzie never had a nose with nostrils, at least that I ever recall. :p

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Actually, there are two official pantone colors for Gonzo's nose. The one that is essentially blue goes on the "snout" part (the section that actually sticks out from his face) and the other one, which a purplish color, goes everywhere else that is exposed foam (except his lower lip, of course...

Happy birthday to Was Once Ernie!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to write and for the lovely sentiments! You've helped make this a special day! :p

    Question about authentic Muppet Props

All the props, costumes and vehicles from The Muppet Movie were auctioned off in a public auction about 6 months after the film came out. I got three puppeteer chairs with tilting backs and casters that were used during filming. I paid $90 for them ($30 apiece). A friend of mine got the trick...

    Kukla Fran & Ollie fans?

Very cool! That's great to know. Thanks! :p

    Kukla Fran & Ollie fans?

Hi Coco, Welcome to the board! Do you know what's become of Burr's puppets? Are they in a museum or something? Was Once Ernie :p

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

I searched all over the internet one day and couldn't find anything from it. The only mention of it on Boom Studios website is a picture of someone's homemade Kermit puppet holding it up in his mouth, but then you can only see the cover, which is a photograph. I don't even know when the...
  10. Was Once Ernie

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Sorry, I was bashing it based on actually SEEING it. I didn't like the artwork in it. Everyone else is entitled to their own opinion when it actually comes out, but I wasn't speculating. I saw it. I didn't read it, so I'll reserve comment on the writing, however. :p

    New Muppets Christmas Special

It's definitely in the planning stages. Dave Goelz mentioned it to me at Comic-Con. Whether or not it will actually get shot or what the plot is, I don't know. :p

    Muppet Pin Trading Headquarters Inc.

To cross pollinate a thread... Why can't the comic book art look like these drawings? :p
  13. Was Once Ernie

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

I searched and I searched and I couldn't find anything on the internet showing the art from the preview book. Even the Boom Studios sight doesn't mention it, except for a picture of someone's homemade Kermit puppet holding a copy of the book so you can see the cover, which is a photograph...
  14. Was Once Ernie

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Wow, I only kinda glanced at it, but I'd say it looked kinda similar to the Fozzie Bear drawing in that link, only maybe even a bit weirder. Not so much like the "Pigs in Space" drawing. I remember Kermit being especially odd-looking, in a sort of underground comics style, with his head all...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

I saw the preview book at Comic-Con and I'm sorry to say I hated the artwork. They wanted $5 for a small preview book, so I didn't buy it, otherwise I'd scan a page and show it to you. I wish they had gotten Dave Alvarez to draw it. He was doing some Muppet comic strips on his own and I...

Your Thoughts: Studio DC Hosted by Dylan and Cole Sprouse

You are absolutely right about the kids on Barney. I always thought Sesame Street had a knack for finding "real" kids, while Barney had these phony show-biz kids that completely overacted. :p

Your Thoughts: Studio DC Hosted by Dylan and Cole Sprouse

That's the way they all act on those tween shows. Notice the "performance" of the character "London". That kind of way-over-the-top overacting just drives me up the wall. It makes Jim Carrey look positively subtle by comparison. I don't even know where this style first cropped up. It...

Your Thoughts: Studio DC Hosted by Dylan and Cole Sprouse

Ah, I was wondering if anyone was going to bring this up. That was my first reaction. The direction on this show was terrible. Obviously by someone who had never directed a puppet show. The cuts were so quick, you couldn't even see the puppets. (Well, what can you expect from a director...

    Cookie Monster

The real Cookie Monster's eyes are put on with tiny screws. When you see him in person, if you look very closely, you can see the slot in the screw. But if pins work, then there you go! :p

Merchandise question: Disney 20in. Kermit w/ light-up fire flies

I don't have one, but I've seen them. I'd be afraid a lint roller would pull off the flocking. A swiffer might work, or an air can to just blow the dust off. :p
